What an awesome experience! I went to 3 other jewelry stores prior to finding Gillespie Fine Jewelers for my wedding set. I tried a small independently owned one that quoted me over twice as much. I tried a big box one that claimed the small one was wrong about what needed to be done to keep my wedding set in good shape and wanted to charge 4 times as much (not an exaggeration-I was floored). The third one I went to, told me that they couldn’t quote me until their jeweler was back on Monday, but I could leave the rings with them and they’d call me-no thank you. THEN I found Gillespie Fine Jewelers and I knew this is where everyone I love needs to come. I met the owner Kim, and his calm familiar demeanor immediately set me at ease. He was honest and fair in quoting me for my set. He actually agreed with the diagnosis from the first store which made me feel he knew his stuff. He didn’t tack on extra unnecessary prong repairs just to bump up the price. From our conversation, he told me he has been a bench jeweler since he was 25. Since he does his own work, he doesn’t have to charge us extra to pay for the jeweler doing the work. He’s not just an owner that doesn’t touch the pieces, he does everything and is extremely skilled at his craft. His quotes are transparent and he explains why the cost is what he is charging. This was by far the best experience I’ve ever had at a jewelry store. I walked away finding a gentleman and a businessman I knew I TRUSTED. He did impeccable work on my set and he didn’t break the bank in the process. I will be coming back! If you want an honest jeweler that knows his craft and is skilled enough to do the work on his own, come to Gillespie Fine Jewelers-he won’t disappoint!
