We had a wonderful experience with Paul! We had been looking for a program that had a positive reinforcement approach, and Paul's program was a perfect fit. We loved the idea of building a better relationship with our pet and avoiding harsh or negative consequences to get our dog to do what we needed. As we stuck to his program (5 minutes of assigned training 3 times a day, super doable!!), we saw results and continue to see them as we continue working with our dog. While we worked on various commands, our main focus was working on a strong recall response and reactivity to other dogs. I have had other opportunites to work with two other dogs in my life in training programs and have never been more impressed with what Good Buddy Dog Training offers. My dog has always been super sweet and happy but I can tell a difference in her behavior after training; she is even more sweet and confident! Thank you, Paul!

While I feel Paul must have meant well, his approach wasn't a good match for me at all. First of all, while I'm happy to pay top dollar for training for myself and my dog, I'd have the expectation that the tainer be confident and, namely, efficient. I didn't experience my time with Paul that way at all. He took approximately 15 minutes to go over each page of materials, even though simply allowing the one minute to read it and then move on through the training would have absolutely been sufficient. When paying what equates to $2.30 per minute, I want to feel that we are moving through the training at a pace that matches me as much as possible. I didn't experience Paul to 'read the room' particularly well either. He frequently used fear as his motivation in his training, saying things like 'it only takes one time for your dog to be able to kill or harm your other dog'. (Yes, I know that, that's why I'm paying $850 to train myself and my dog!) When I clearly noted to Paul that I found this approach unhelpful, he doubled down and then responded that my dog in training could even kill or harm my other dogs by 'falling on them.' I found this approach utterly bizarre and not at all what I was looking for in a trainer. For transparency, due to the lack of fit, I terminated the training after one full evaluation session and only partly into a first official training session. So, it is possible, that despite his communication being questionable, he might have been successful at training with myself and my dogs, but after the bizarre start, I wasn't willing to spend the money and time while already flustered and frustrated.

Paul is the best! Helped us with our first dog and now again as we add a second to our pack! Always patient and fun to work with. Can't thank him enough for helping us get set up for success with our pups.

Paul was very good at accessing our untrained 2 year old Lucy. He was very knowledgeable and informative with tips and gave great hands on training. His positive training method was gladly accepted. With Lucy, she will be a lifelong commitment and it is great I was given the tools to better handle her.
