I (36F) went to Her Mission for the first time last year looking to blow off some steam. I was new to San Francisco and didn't have an athletic or fitness history, but have taken my fair share of fitness classes - yoga, pilates, boxing, spin - you name it, I've probably tried it. After the first class I was hooked. It's not an easy class, but a few things make Her Mission different: 1) you feel your body, and that feeling is amazing. I have a noticeable post-workout "high" after class and my body moved with ease. The more classes I took, the better my body felt. Hills and stairs were easier. I was able to squat and bend with more strength and flexibility. My core and knees are stronger and able to carry me further. Previously, I left other workout classes with injuries and exhaustion instead of energy and mobility. 2) You can move at your own pace. We've all been in workout classes when the instructors come over and try to get you "on track" with the rest of the class if you're struggling to keep up. Not here. Modification is encouraged to account for individual physical needs or ability. It's a breath of fresh air to go to a workout where doing your best is actually okay. 3) There is a noticeable (but not cult like) community. This was the first workout I've consistently gone to where I've enjoyed and joined the community. The people who go to this class are warm, diverse and unique. There is a wide range of ages, body types and races. The "regulars" look out for each other and for the newbies in class. You can lean in and out of the community as much as you'd like. Overall, I feel incredibly lucky to have found this class and to have Sharon and Kiesha as instructors. They have managed to cultivate a space that feels both rare and also incredibly familiar. If you're looking for a workout that will prepare your body for the future in a supportive environment, this class is for you.
I've been going to Her Mission classes since the pandemic when classes were outdoors at the Marina triangle. And previous to that, went to Sharon and Kiesha's classes at Bar Method. They are amazing teachers and so conscious and professional with their instructions. Love their new space because it's walkable from my house! :)
I have been attending Her Mission classes with Sharon and Kiesha since January 2021 (when classes were offered outdoors during the pandemic). My 2-3x a week in person workouts with both of them are a highlight of my week. I love that every class is different and challenges muscle groups in myriad ways. The movements and music are energizing and because they change up the moves and muscle groups each class, it keeps it fun and motivating. And, when I'm traveling, I appreciate that I can opt for online classes. My favorite classes are with the band and my favorite move is the 90/90 as I feel like it amps the challenge further. Thanks to Sharon and Kiesha for cultivating the Her Mission Community and offering these fantastic classes that tone your body in innumerable ways. It's great that classes are now indoors at this location as there are no rain outs, now that we are getting much needed rain in San Francisco after so many years of drought :)
I've been a HM client for 4 years and look forward to Sharon and Kiesha's class every week❤️ Class: The care and attention that go into every class, each of which is unique, is incredible and I always leave feeling challenged and energized. Not to mention they're recorded, so if I'm traveling I can take the latest class on the road. Instruction: Sharon and Kiesha both lead the class and complete the exercises with you - it's beyond motivating to see your instructor in the shake and challenge with you! Community: You won't find a more thoughtful, lovely group of people.
The greatest exercise class I have ever taken. Have been to exercise classes for 50 years, and these women, Keisha and Sharon are lovely and professional. Classes are held at a dance studio on Geary Blvd and 21st in SF.
