For our first time flying, Hummingbyrd Helicopter Tours provided a great experience! Front desk Luis provided superior customer service/support upon our arrival. He was kind, and walked us through the check-in & lockers process. Pilot Joost was professional and careful throughout our time with him. He gave us a smooth ride and we felt safe. We enjoyed a memorable experience with Hummingbyrd and look forward to riding again in the future.
The helicopter company we flew with was called Hummingbyrd. Keep in mind that there are two different helicopters companies operating in the same location. The second is FLYNYON. My review is for the first, Hummingbyrd. It's odd that they position themselves as the only helicopter company that flies on Sundays. But that turned out to be untrue as soon as we arrived and saw that the second also flies on that day. Choosing the right day was crucial for us, as it was my birthday. There are a few comments: First. When we arrived, a company employee started offering to upgrade our flight to a half-hour so we could see all the sights. The thing is, we'd already paid for a full helicopter flight. But the employee told us about a shortened program and offered to pay for the full flight. Until I pointed out that we'd already paid for it and should have had the full flight. Only after that did the employee check and say, "Yes, that's right." Well, that's not very professional for that kind of money. Second. The website advertises a flight time of 30-32 minutes, but we were immediately told it would be 24-26 minutes. Why then list a different time on the website? Then tell the truth right away; the short flight time turned out to be even shorter than what was listed on the website. I know this because, see point one, where he told us in detail about the short flight without checking which one we purchased. Third. Our purchase included a flight and a free gift. Everything would have been fine, but for some reason, after the flight, I had to wait 10-15 minutes for a staff member to find out and request this free gift MYSELF. If you specify this, the staff member should immediately check and verify that the guest received the gift. It's not the customers who should have to go and find out what the gift is and whether we need it. Considering that the flight was for my birthday, the service spoiled the entire experience. The flight itself with the pilot was excellent, no complaints there. In fact, you see all of Manhattan from the outside, not from within it. We thought the flight would be more directly over the city, rather than over the water around it. However, the stated duration at check-in doesn't match the information on the website and the receipt upon payment. It clearly states 30-32 minutes of flight, not 24-26 minutes.
I am visiting from Georgia for my birthday. My son and daughter booked a sunset helicopter ride with Hummingbyrd. I must say the experience was an incredible one and absolutely unforgettable! Justice was very helpful and personable. Adam the pilot was great at ensuring safety protocols and were clearly explained. The views were breathtaking seeing the cityscape from above was an amazing sight. I highly recommend this helicopter tour to anyone looking for a unique and thrilling adventure.
I’ll never forget this helicopter ride over New York!! It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Luis greeted us with so much kindness and explained everything clearly, which instantly made us feel comfortable. The lounge was a great spot to relax before the flight, with drinks, coffee, and plenty of space to sit. When it was time to fly, our pilot Pete was amazing! professional, calm, and he made sure we enjoyed every moment in the air. I had researched so many companies beforehand, and I honestly feel like I chose the right one. Thanks Hummingbyrd for making this memory unforgettable! Alyenace ❤️
Amazing! It was worth every penny. Staff were exceptionally friendly. I was copilot to Devon (I believe?) who was great. The views were amazing and the flight was super smooth. Waiting area and transport are clean and comfortable as well. This is already the highlight of our trip. 10/10 would recommend this to anybody.
