We recently moved from Florida to our new home in River Highlands sub Division, Suffolk VA to be closer to our daughter and grandchildren. We made arrangements to have our home built on a cul de sac with the lovely Nansemond River butting up to our back yard. At the same time, we made preparations to sell our home in Florida. Since we couldn’t be in Suffolk to monitor the building of our home, we needed to obtain a realtor to be our “eyes” and “ears” A few local residents recommended that we contact Patience MacCartney of Iron Valley Real Estate, Norfolk. I am so glad we did! She was our eyes and Ears and then some! She visited the home regularly during the building stage stage, taking videos, texting us and acting on our behalf when problems arose up until closing where she and my daughter acted on our behalf as we were busy with our Florida closing. Moving frequently around the country because of my profession, we have experienced good and not so good realtors. Patience is not only good, she is excellent! My wife and I highly recommend her. She is a work horse, following through on your behalf like our home was hers.

Great experience working with Stephen Do and his team! I was looking for a new agent to work with and Stephen made my first time home buying process as smooth as possible. He was quick with communication and answered many of my questions when I didn’t understand some parts of the home buying process or when I had curious questions! He really took his time to understand me and helped me find homes that fit my lifestyle and needs best. I think what I appreciated the most about Stephen was candidness and integrity - he opened my mind to areas or home layouts that I didn’t want to see initially. It helped give me more options as inventory was low when I was searching in February. I engaged a realtor w/ Iron Valley Norfolk to schedule several showings resulting in a sale contract. My agent Jake referred me to a Home Inspection comoany citing they were " great" .Upon day the home inspection was accomplished I realized the Inspector was not knowledgeable on many asoects of the inspection that i had questions about. After listening to & viewing the report, then hired a Class A contractor to advise me of numerous iquestionable tems & learned much more derogatory information. The property had quite a few issues not in the report including structural and subsequently cancelled the sale contract. The realestate agent was advised of same by my contractor. He then scheduled several other home showings for a specific date and referred me to a lender to obtain pre approval status. The day before appt w/ lender , agent then cited he would not show me the properties unless I changed my appt to the morning, telling me I had to rearrange my entire schedule and showings to do it on his terms that day. Notably taken back by his demeanor I advised I had already coordinated my plans for the day and did not wish to change them , and requested the showing itinerary for he day. He refused and I was forced to terminate my relationship with Iron Valley Real Estate and have another more professional company show us the requested properties & prifessionally represent our interests . Interestingly, I had used Iron Valley on the sale of a previous home in Hampton and had a a great experience with my agent Andy Nelson. Be careful experience agents make all the difference between a great ot terrible experience !
