This was my first gel art manicure and it was delightful. Vanessa worked with me in advance to develop the design idea and then, through truly artistic trial-and-error, made some uniquely beautiful come to life on my short nails. They are like little paintings and I adore them!
Vanessa is an amazing nail artist. Whatever you need, whether it is stamping or custom design she can do it. Her space is also really amazing, good tunes and vibes in the studio. I've been coming to see her for months now and she always delivers better than expected. Her work is very high quality, my gels and manicures last for weeks even with the tough abuse I put my fingers and hands through daily.
I've followed Vanessa on Instagram for a couple months and finally decided to treat myself to a new set of Aprés Gel-X nails with 30min of art. The studio where she takes appointments is cosy and tidy. Vanessa is friendly and our conversation felt natural. Her work is super clean and beautifully done. I will definitely be back. :)
I have been seeing Vanessa for ten months, and as long as she'll have me I'll never see anyone else. Six months ago, when I moved from Oakland to SF, I still didn't stop traveling to OAK to see her. Everything I've asked her for, from "classy funeral" to "goth" to "lisa frank" to "david bowie" she's delivered. I'm hard on my nails too. I wash dishes, I type *a lot*, I take (at least) daily baths in shea butter, I travel and I never wear gloves, but none the less, my nails stay looking dope. The couple of times I've had problems, Vanessa coached me through an at home repair and worked on ways she could improve for next time given my unique lifestyle. This last part might sound trite, but I'm really grateful that I started seeing Vanessa. When I look down at my nails and the beautiful custom artwork on them, I feel joy and I need that in my life.
