I feel bad wiring this but I think others deserve to know. About a year ago I went to this salon for the first time with the friend who lived nearby. During the pedicure I felt a stab and looked down and the pedicures was using a straight blade to cut the edge of my nail. I’ve seen them online used but never locally. I didn’t know if it had been cleaned or sanitized. She apologized and kept going with the pedicure. I didn’t want to make her feel bad because what was done was done. About two days later, the cuticle area started to get red and inflamed. I tried to put some topical ointment on it, but it got worse and worse until I could see that there was clearly pus under the skin. I went to the Doctor Who confirmed that it was infected and put me on antibiotics . It cleared up pretty quickly, and I thought that was the end of it. Then over the next month, I noticed that my nail was starting to thicken, and it was starting to become discolored and yellow, and it was getting a buildup under the nail, which was confirmed to be a nail fungus. My doctor confirmed that fungus can take over the nail After a traumatic injury to the nail. Since this was only on one nail, the nail that had been cut by the pedicures I knew it was related to that one event. I have tried numerous over-the-counter medications. Research different things online and with my doctor some things seem to help for a short time, but then the nail will thicken again and remains discolored. I just caution anybody going to the salon to make sure that their instruments are sanitized and that they are not using the straight blade at the cuticle.
I had such a great experience with Nathaly! She did my nails exactly how I wanted, took her time to make sure everything looked perfect, and was super professional. I definitely recommend her! 👍🏼
Just went in for a gel pedicure with callus remover. I didn't think I had a lot of dead skin but when I got home, my carpet felt different lol. Thats how you know you got a GOOD pedicure 🤣
