An absolute joke for a Wednesday night. Waited over an hour for a starter to arrive. So ended up getting up and leaving when it was no where to be seen. Completely understaffed in restaurant and in the kitchen. Our server was really nice, and very apologetic for the shambles of a service. I did feel sorry for him. The manager tho, didn’t even have the decency to apologise which is very disappointing. What’s made me write this negative review. Isn’t the fact they are understaffed, causing massive lengthy delays. But the fact they take too many reservations, and two.which is the kicker. They are doing Uber eats / deliveroo service which is just ridiculous. There was two delivery guys waiting with there bags in the door way, so wasn’t impressed at all. They really need to get there act together.
Unfortunately didnt like our experience here. We had the Bottomless Tapas for £22 (£22 if with tacos, £17 if without tacos) and once we were taken to our seats, the elderly couple next to us were fuming angrily and had called one of the waiters that they are leaving. Theyve managed to get some cocktails as there was wine and beer on their table however apparently theyve been waiting for 45 minutes for their food. They left very disappointed and hangry (angry + hungry). So for the bottomless tapas, the rule is that we get served the nachos first and then the first 4 tapas of our liking (contrary to the menu which says order 3 tapas per person at a time) My partner and I went there a bit hungry too but waited 40 minutes to be served with the nachos. Our nachos was with very minor toppings compared to the other tables.once done with nachos, we waited another 10-15 minutes for the tapas. The beef brisket tacos were ok. The calamari not exciting. The quesadillas very much average. So imagine waiting for a long time just to get this very average food. We ordered another round of tapas because we wanted to get our money’s worth. So again waited for another 30min. The quesadillas were burnt this time. Tacos served cold. And the popcorn squid tasted bizzare. We should not have attempted to get our money’s worth 😅 we paid £56 (£22 x 2 for tapas, £6 x 2 for cocktails) in total but still gave some tip because our waiter (God bless her) was attentive despite the chaos of the waiting time and despite the food being so average. Cocktails were at £6 each but boy was the long island filled much with ice so literally paying for ice over there. The tables surrounding us were offered free round of cocktails for the long wait, not sure why we were not offered. I reckon was it because they waited more than an hr? Because we waited 40min just for nachos and another 10-15min for the tapas and another 30min for the next set of tapas 🤷🏻♀️
Very friendly male server and delicious food - love the tapas menu!!!! The sober-curious cocktails were unbelievable 👌
Tried the Brazilian Katsu curry at Las Iguanas on West Nile Street and it was a vibrant twist on a classic. The dish arrived piping hot, beautifully plated with a golden-crisp breaded chicken cutlet nestled in a rich, creamy coconut curry sauce. Unlike the Japanese version, this one leaned into Latin warmth—spiced just enough to awaken the palate without overpowering it. The sauce had depth: hints of garlic, ginger, and a subtle sweetness that paired well with the fluffy rice and crunchy slaw. It’s comfort food with a carnival soul. Portion size was generous, and the textures were spot on—crispy, creamy, and fresh all in one bite. Service was friendly and upbeat, and the atmosphere had that signature Las Iguanas buzz—colourful, lively, and perfect for a casual dinner with flair. If you're looking for something familiar but with a tropical twist, this dish delivers. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would definitely order again—especially with a pint of Mahou on the side.
We got the lunch menu then added nachos to share. I'll start with the positives, the mains were delicious, we got the beef brisket burrito and the chipotle chicken enchiladas to share. I really enjoyed the mocktails too in particular the pink lemonade which are part of the £10 lunch. We added the nachos, the toppings were fine but I didn't really like the actual nachos. Next time we'd give them a miss & maybe try something else. We also got cocktails later, they do selected cocktails for £6 but I'd forgotten it was Friday, our fault but they weren't worth the full price. If you want cocktails go for the brunch deal, about £40 for 2 courses & 5 cocktails which is what our friends did. A great experience overall!
