I am obsessed with this store. The atmosphere, plant quality and selection is fantastic. Staff has been very knowledge when I have had questions. I look forward to frequenting more often.
I placed an order with Lost in the Forrest on October 24 to honor the anniversary of my dog’s birthday—my baby who passed on 2/5/25. This wasn’t just a purchase; it was a meaningful moment I wanted to mark with a healthy, beautiful plant. When the order went radio silent for 19 days, I was disappointed, but I was also understanding. Delays happen. Life happens. Shipping isn’t perfect. But in all that time, not once did the shop offer a simple update, acknowledgment, or even a basic “we apologize.” The absence of communication was the first red flag. I finally reached out myself on November 12 just to figure out where my order even was—something I should not have had to do as the customer. The plant arrived two days later, and whatever grace I had extended toward the delay vanished immediately. The leaves were torn, cracked, scarred. The stem showed stress marks that clearly did not occur during shipping. I emailed the boutique the same day—with photos—because I wanted to resolve this quickly and respectfully. Their response? Dismissive and disappointing. The damage was written off as “cosmetic,” and no real solution was offered. No refund, no replacement, no store credit. Just a recommendation that I prune a plant I paid full price for. If I wanted a project, I could’ve gone to the clearance rack at Lowe’s or Home Depot. I chose a boutique because I expected boutique-level quality, care, and accountability. And then there was the emotional tone-deafness. They referenced my dog in their reply, but not in any meaningful or empathetic way—just as a deflection. It felt hollow, not human. Ending the email with “have a good weekend” instead of owning the issue or offering next steps only underscored the lack of seriousness. Yes, the packaging was solid and the plant was larger than expected, but size does not excuse neglect. I’ve ordered dozens of plants online. I’ve never received one in this condition. I even included photos of the box to make it clear: this was not a shipping problem. As of 11/18/2025, no one from this shop has responded to my last email. No apology. No accountability. No attempt to make things right. Because of that, I filed a claim with my financial provider, and my refund was issued. What’s most disappointing is that this shop does not operate on the values, integrity, or customer care they claim to represent. Their plants online are beautiful, and I genuinely wanted to become a long-term customer. But the way my situation was handled—or completely ignored—spoke volumes. Do better.
I drove 2 hours to buy a Hoya bella from this store because it’s been on my wishlist for a long time. Sadly, the plant started declining almost right away. I did everything correctly kept it in the original pot so it could adapt, watered only when dry but after a few weeks the roots were completely dead and the stems turned hollow. The plant was sold in peat moss, which is known to cause root problems because it dries out unevenly dry on top but soggy in the core. That’s exactly what happened here. When I contacted the store, they said their policy is “all sales are final” and that the plant must have been fine because others from the same batch sold. But clearly this one wasn’t stable when I bought it, or it would not have collapsed so quickly even with proper care. I’m very disappointed that they won’t take responsibility or stand behind what they sell. Plants shouldn’t be dying within a month of purchase if they’re healthy to begin with. Shoppers deserve to know that if something goes wrong, this store will not work with you.
This place has a large selection of plants and most of them seem in good condition. I have had some trouble getting sale prices when I check out and some items are rather pricey compared to other places I've shopped. The staff is kind and helpful. Some of the plants I've gotten have really done well and others just seem like there's too much of a struggle to reacclimate. My sister has had some real problemic plants here that should be easy to care for, so I'm not sure of the true quality of the plants.
This humble but amazing plant shop is definitely a place of grace and awesomeness! The shop owner was such a treat to meet - very open about her journey to owning such a great place. Plants were all in great conditions with much thought and care behind each one. The staff were all very welcoming and kind with service while prices were very reasonable! The shop has so many beautiful plants that it leaves you awestruck as you walk in. 10/10 would visit again for my next house plant~
