Paul Handle of Mahler Sotheby's represented us as sellers of architecturally significant properties outside of Spring Green. His advice, expertise and professionalism were all outstanding. Complexities included easements and "rights of first refusal" which are not uncommon in rural areas. Paul's sophisticated understanding of real estate and sensitivity toward our selling property that had been owned by generations of family helped immeasurably. We were highly satisfied with Paul and the Sotheby's team as we brought our sales to a close.
Poor. I contacted their agent about buying a listed property. The first thing they did was try to get both sides of the commission, even after I was clear I would find someone to represent my interests. They continued to pursue me for both sides. We set up a tour, which they cancelled at the very last minute after they found out I secured a buyer's agent, stating they could possibly be breaking the law. My lawyer, who is also a broker, thought that to be extreme. In addition, they were only offering 1.75% commission to the buyers agent. That's so low many agents won't even show the property and I offered my agent additional incentive. We made a straight forward cash offer 10% below the ask price. Their agent called to nit pick our offer without a counter offer, in my view completely unprofessional. My second offer, 5% below asking price was rejected without negotiation as well. I have bought and sold many properties, so has my agent, and in all our experience we never encountered such odd alienating behavior. As a buyer I would never consider them as an agent, they certainly did not represent a buyers interest by trying to get both sides of the commission, an obvious conflict of interest. As a seller I'd never list with them, I'd never treat potential buyers the way they treated me. Also buyer agents are less likely to show properties at 1.75% commission. Sotheby's needs to take a close look at this operation.

Kathleen Klassen at Mahler Sotheby's is a really hard worker. She has a positive outlook and a great attitude about finding you a home. She is straightforward and will tell you the truth, which is exactly what you want, so you are not wasting your time. Buying a home, especially from out of state can be a stressful experience. Kathleen was always dependable and genuine. She really settled a lot of fears and gave great guidance about the market and the process of a home purchase. She helped me to be patient and understand the best way to buy a home in a city I've never lived in. Also, home hunting with her was seriously fun! She was a straight shooter and was so accommodating with our short time in Milwaukee. She is so fun and friendly but still very professional. This really made the whole process much more comforting to us. To be a buyer during our move timeline and in a seller's market had some challenges but I'm so glad we were in great hands with Kathleen Klassen at Mahler Sotheby's!
