The instructors are very helpful and kind. My son loves going to math class. They’re very understanding and supportive no matter the age of the student.
My child has shown Great improvement and confidence in math since joining Mathnasium. The instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and really know how to explain concepts in a way that kids understand. They provide a supportive, encouraging environment that keeps my child motivated and excited to learn.
Our 3 kids have loved going to Mathnasium during the summer for several years. The instructors make learning and practicing math fun and not a chore, and they are great role models. The Ladue center has a very positive and accepting atmosphere where kids there for acceleration, remediation, or general practice are all accepted without judgement by their peers. It is great for kids to see that it can be "cool" to work on math outside of school and alongside kids of all ages. The center director, Carlos, and all of the instructors do a wonderful job ensuring that the students are making progress and happy to keep returning!
I remember our very first month at Mathnasium when our kiddo announced to the whole room, “Mathnasium is a place for kids who love math!” You could almost hear the record scratch as every other kid turned to see who would make such a bold claim. His teacher just laughed and said, “Well, some of us love math… and some are still learning how to.” We first brought our son here at age 4, during his last semester of preschool. He was already figuring out 3rd grade math more or less on his own, and we wanted to keep that momentum going — especially since his two liberal-arts-major parents were starting to feel out of our depth. From day one, the team has been incredibly supportive, patient, and creative in meeting him where he’s at. There aren’t many accelerated math programs in St. Louis that are developmentally appropriate for 4- to 6-year-olds, and they’ve been wonderfully patient with our neurodiverse kiddo. When he started, he couldn’t read yet, so the team gave him extra attention to help bridge the gap and read the directions in his binder. Ironically, I think the word problems in his worksheets might have been what pushed him to start reading - which he now does very enthusiastically, as well. The staff is fantastic, the reward system is fun and motivating, and after 18 months here, and our kiddo is so proud of what he’s accomplished. Huge thanks to Mr. Carlos and the whole team for your encouragement, your patience, and — of course — your mathness!
Both of my kids—7th grade and 9th grade—love going to Mathnasium (yes, you read that right)! The staff are not only knowledgeable and competent but also incredibly kind and patient. Carlos, the center director, creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes math feel far less intimidating. The screen-free environment is a rare gem, allowing students to truly focus without distractions. Each child follows a personalized plan tailored to their grade, goals, and progress. They've built real confidence, improved their skills, and—most surprising of all—started loving math. As parents who could help at home but prefer to preserve family peace, Mathnasium has been a true lifesaver. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to strengthen math skills while also strengthening family harmony.
