Nomu Izakaya is an absolute win. From the moment you sit down, the vibe feels dialed in. Relaxed, welcoming, and just the right energy for great food and drinks. The sushi was fresh and beautifully prepared, the nigiri lineup hit every note, the hand rolls were generous and balanced, and the takoyaki came out hot, crispy, and packed with flavor. Drinks were equally on point, whether you’re in the mood for a cold beer or a well-crafted cocktail. Bonus points for happy hour from 4–6 PM, which makes it even easier to enjoy top-quality food and drinks without feeling rushed or overpriced. Great service, great atmosphere, and consistently excellent food. Easily a go-to spot and one I’ll keep coming back to.
Nomu was fantastic! Family owned, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The tuna tartare appetizer and salmon don were the highlights for us. Also the matcha tiramisu is homemade every morning, definitely worth a try. We’re excited to come back here again! Also shout out to Arya, he really made the experience next level for us.
I should have written this when they opened many months ago but I totally forgot . Oh my goodness! This place serves the best Ootoro hand roll (fatty tuna) for only $15! It was incredibly fatty and exceptional quality. I also tried the Uni nigiri, which was melting in my mouth. I was completely missing out on this sushi experience for a while. This restaurant makes me feel right at home in Japan, and I genuinely believe it’s the best Japanese restaurant in Jacksonville! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is so Japanese as well. They have Yakitori grill station inside and they make really good Yakitori with charcoal. ( just like Japan ) You must try this place if you think you know about high quality sushi & japanese food.
I had a really good experience at this Japanese restaurant. The creamy udon was delicious — rich, smooth, and topped with a fresh egg yolk, ikura, and seaweed. The sushi roll was flavorful and tasted very fresh, and the grilled octopus was tender with a nice smoky flavor. The presentation of all the dishes was beautiful, and the atmosphere was calm and clean.I would definitely come back.
First time here and it definitely won’t be my last. I can honestly say I was impressed. It’s very rare to like everything on the menu, and I must say everything was really good including the desserts. All the staff were wonderful and they were very accommodating considering I am pregnant. I came here with my friend, JY who has been here multiple times and I can see why now. This is my new favorite sushi place. I brought some food to go for my husband to try and he was really impressed as well. The owner came by and introduced himself. I am glad they opened up this place. Everyone was welcoming and atmosphere was nice.
