Dr. David Wiss brings a very balanced, caring, multi-faceted and fact-based approach to helping me understand what is going on behind any residual desires, confusions, feeling of lack, body misperceptions etc. where body, health and nutrition is concerned. He's one of the smartest writers out there on these subjects. Dr. David has helped me find even more balance in the way I approach my nutrition as an aging woman along with helping me have a more compassionate approach to an aging body. He is able to point to truths that I couldn't see or seem to miss and does so in a jovial and caring way. He fully understands how addiction may have affected our outlook and is able to gently bring one back into the right lane for maximum movement forward. I recommend Dr. David for anyone who wants to go further with their nutritional health and mental wellbeing.
Dr. David Wiss, PhD, MS, RDN, is a true standout in the mental health and nutrition field, a rare find after years of searching for the right provider. I first worked with him in 2015 when I was teetering on the edge of relapse and entering IOP. His genuine, down-to-earth approach instantly put me at ease, creating a safe space to explore the mind-gut-body connection and address the chronic lack of bowel movements I have struggled with for what feels like a lifetime. Dr. Wiss’s passion for his work is evident in his groundbreaking research and unwavering dedication to his clients’ well-being. His ability to connect authentically while offering expert guidance had a profound impact on my life. He’s truly extraordinary, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking life-changing, authentic support in recovery.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but I have to take a moment to give credit where it’s due. Ever since meeting David Wiss, my understanding of mental health, nutrition, and how to truly care for my mind and body has been completely transformed. David’s empathy and intuition allow him to connect deeply with each person he meets, while his intelligence and expertise shape the unique plan that each individual needs. He has a rare gift for taking complex nutritional and mental health concepts and distilling them into clear, elegant, and practical guidance. I couldn’t imagine anyone else I’d rather have in my corner when it comes to improving my health, understanding nutrition, and becoming the best version of myself. And if you’re lucky enough to hear his personal story, you’ll walk away even more inspired — and even more certain you made the right choice in seeking him out.
Where do I start? I came here with lots of health issues. GERD, SIBO, hypertension, insomnia, low energy, always hungry, terrible digestive issues, and the list goes on. I've went to him for 2 years, and really all he says, is "everything in moderation" and eat a lot of whole foods, that aren't processed". Which I agree on that part completely, but the problem with that is, that it still doesn't tell you what to do. I'm sorry but, what in the world does "everything in moderation" even mean??? That's not actual information. That's not actually telling you what to do. It's like going shopping at a grocery store, and on the shopping sticker it says "buy whole foods, that aren't processed, and make sure that it's in moderation". But what do I actually buy???? If you want to hear a broken record of "everything in moderation", "whole foods only", etc, without actual information. Then this is the place to go. He doesn't actually say anything besides for that. I went to him for 2 years, and all he said was "everything in moderation" "whole foods" "it has to sustainable" "make sure to get your polyphenols and all the rainbow", without any actual info. He seems like a pretty smart person, and he might know the science, but he doesn't actually say anything. P.S David wiss is a very nice person, and a good personality. This comment was meant solely for him to read it, so that way he can better his practice.
I can’t say enough positive things about David Wiss. I’ve been working with him for just a few months, via Zoom, and my understanding about nutrition has totally changed. We work via Zoom, because I am in Paris and he is in Los Angeles. But the nine hour difference, doesn’t get in the way!
