A real treat. Upon entering you will find nice modern seats and tables and fresh clean layout that instantly sets off a good vibe. Wait staff are very friendly and by the time the meals come around service is fast and efficient. The food is incredible and every dish we tried hits with a mix of subtle and delicate flavours that work perfectly.
We had a group of 8. Staff were fantastic, so friendly and looked after us. The food was well presented and very tasty. The lamb was tender and excellent. Would highly recommend. We are visiting from Coffs Harbour but the locals know how special this place is😊😊
The food was delicious, we had slow cooked lamb, gnocchi, fried feta & duck cigar. kudos to chef paolo for making our experience so delightful! definitely coming back for the feed me course.
A popular restaurant that is nice to host a catch up with friends. We particularly enjoyed the dishes we ordered. The fried feta was lightly crumbed and was not dry. It paired well with the chilli on top. The pear was a great addition to the feta. Beef tartare had a strong flavour profile, a bit over seasoned in my opinion. Portuguese chicken was moist and had a nice marinade. We would’ve liked if there was more rice as we did share it amongst the four of us. It would be a good main if served for an individual. The prawns were not overcooked and de shelled was appreciated. The mandarin came through and cut nicely with the other dishes. The iceberg lettuce was too tangy and can be quite overpowering especially as a side dish. The roasted cabbage was nicely charred and very tasty alongside the macadamia puree. We ordered the ice cream sandwich and one thing to note was to let it sit for a few minutes as when served it was very solid and hard to cut through given we only had spoons. A nice restaurant but one criticism we had was the service. Knowing it is a popular restaurant with multiple booking times, we still felt rushed. The servers, though friendly did come multiple times despite asking for a few more minutes to decide on what to eat. This was also the same with drinks when we asked to wait until the rest of the party arrived. As soon as we sat down they immediately asked us what drinks despite some of us sitting down only for a minute or so and haven’t looked fully at the menu.
I really wanted to give Olive 5 stars but standing waiting to be greeted and seated whilst 3 staff members stood chatting was a little awkward. Hubby was ready to walk out but I’d heard so many good things about this place. Now let’s get to the food. It was outstanding. Flavours were absolutely beautiful. And a big thank you to the Chef who let us swap a dish. We had the Feed Me menu. Very generous serves. I look forward to returning to try some different dishes.
