I've only used PetBar once and was initially pleased with my dog’s haircut. Unfortunately, there was a serious issue with the gland expression not being done correctly that overshadowed the experience. After the appointment, my dog was visibly uncomfortable, rubbing his bottom on the ground and constantly sitting, even on walks. It was sad, as this behavior was completely new and did not exist prior to the grooming. I called the following day and was advised to monitor the situation. When it continued, I shared photos and returned to the shop. At that visit, a more experienced groomer re-expressed his glands and confirmed they had not been properly emptied during the original appointment. While I appreciated the follow-up care, this issue caused my dog unnecessary discomfort and required additional time and effort on my part. I reached out to management and did not receive a response, which is disappointing. I’m sharing this review to highlight the importance of groomers properly executing services or not offering it when inexperienced. Also the poor customer service. To not hear back is insulting. It is fair to say I will not be returning.

Karina at PetBar is a dog whisperer! Our chow chow has been getting groomed with Karina for over a year and she always does the BEST job. Our dog doesn’t love going to the groomer (can you blame him?!) but Karina makes it tolerable and relatively painless. Highly recommend!

I am always nervous taking my fur baby to a new groomer because you never know how it will go. My pup is a German Shepherd mix with long hair, and getting a short summer cut to actually look GOOD has always been a challenge. He has had more than a few bad haircuts in the past, but PetBar Boutique completely exceeded my expectations. They were responsive on the phone, very welcoming when we arrived, and they even gave me a tour so I could see how everything works. I loved the concept, the cleanliness, and the way they truly care for the animals. His haircut came out perfect, they did a great job on his nail trim, he smells amazing, and he looks adorable. The best part is how happy he has been all day. I can tell he feels good. Usually after grooming he is a bit mopy because he is scared or stressed, but that was not the case here. I genuinely think he enjoyed his experience and feels better. Another thing I love is that they have everything you could possibly need for self grooming too. It is convenient, clean, and well organized, which makes it even better. I will absolutely be coming back and recommending PetBar Boutique Houston to all of my friends. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish.

We had the best experience going to PetBar for the first time. I was not sure who to book with for a groomer and after reading glowing reviews, we booked Grey. She was wonderful! Harley’s hair looks perfect and I can tell she was so sweet with our girl. I also liked how there are cameras all over, we could see our puppy waiting in her space in the back when we walked in. She had a ton of space and looked very comfortable. Thank you! See you next time

I really wanted to love this place because the first time I came, they did such a wonderful job with my dog. That’s why I decided to come back and even paid nearly $200 expecting the same level of care. Unfortunately, this time was very disappointing. When I got home, my dog was shedding everywhere—almost worse than before the appointment. It honestly felt like nothing had been done beyond just giving a bath. My significant other reached out to the spa about our concerns, but the only solution they offered was to pay again for another bath and offer to deshed again which the bath would have been another $85. Will not be coming back here again. See photos for reference
