I've been to multiple vets clinics with my dogs, and Dr. Berger at Petwell is by far the best! My dogs are reactive to new people, but they both immediately loved Dr. Berger and his whole team. They make both me and my dogs feel comfortable and at home, and offer top tier care and educational material. They've taken such good care of my babies and treated them like their own and I couldn't be more appreciative!
Had a terrible experience, please think twice before coming here especially for any urgent care needs. Dr. Bergen gave me an estimated quote of $1800-2200 (which was already a higher cost than other places for tests like these) and then charged me $2900 for a bunch of tests and medicines he never needed. He asked me to come in the next day at 7am for my dogs ultrasound and then didn’t start the ultrasound till noon and then did another ultrasound later in the day and so I wasn’t able to pick him up till 5. My dog was unnecessarily stuck there for 10 hours when he’s already sick and has severe anxiety. Then the worst part, when he couldn’t figure out what was wrong he proposed EXPLORATORY SURGERY. My dog was pooping blood and was dehydrated to the point of almost shock according to my regular vet. I immediately took my dog to our normal vet bc thought of surgery for no reason sounded absolutely insane to me. The vet quickly diagnosed the problem within the hour with one simple $300 test and was doing great within 24 hours of taking the prescribed meds. I cannot imagine if I had let Dr. Bergen OPEN UP my dog for absolutely no reason to yet again still not have a diagnosis plus the weeks of recovery for my poor dog. I spent $3500 and got no closer to figuring out what was wrong with my dog along with an insane amount of stress put on both of us. I write this review not to bash Dr. Bergen but to warn others who have pets in need of urgent care.
Dr Berger is literally the worst Dr I’ve ever met. Don’t bring your pet here if you love them. He doesn’t deserve to be a doctor. Trust me. I wouldn’t take the time out of my day to write this if it weren’t true. He doesn’t value you or the people that works for him.
I don't trust any type of healthcare facilities who require you to put a deposit down just to make an appointment. Overall, I will say it looks like a solid practice and the website is easy to use, but I'm just gonna make an appointment at one of the [several] nearby veterinarians that don't try to make a quick buck off people when life happens to get in the way. That's a predatory practice and shows a lack of trust right from the start. I do know you're reasoning behind it, but as far as I'm concerned I should also be paid if I have to wait on you past my scheduled appointment time if that's your policy. Something tells me that's not the case.. so essentially you schedule appointments and then when people miss them you charge them $50. I'm also confident you are not knocking out every appointment in under 30 minutes when appointments are actually full in a given day. A good, caring vet wouldn't be pushing me out the door in under 30 minutes every single time I come in either. So yeah... no.
Dr. Berger and his team are incredible, kind, and compassionate. We brought our puppy, Cartier, home about 3 months ago and have had a nightmare time due to a parasite that was found on his first exam. After multiple rounds of treatment and visiting Dr. B sometimes several times a week, he is finally all better and looking forward to all the fun puppy things he hasn’t been able to enjoy. Dr. B has been tremendously kind and helped make sure I didn’t lose my mind lately. Dr. B, Sarah, Joyita, and all the rest of the staff always make sure our little guy is comfortable and answer the thousands of questions I’ve had since becoming a new dog dad. Their fear free approach has helped make going to the vet a non-event for us and Cartier is always excited to see everyone. There are definitely cheaper options around, but at Petwell you truly get what you pay for (and they offer convenient monthly care memberships that can really help make the cost more manageable, especially if extensive care is necessary as in our case). We couldn’t be more grateful to have found this wonderful team and look forward to having them as part of our extended family for many years to come. I’d highly recommend Petwell to anyone, but especially new pet owners who might need more guidance from a very patient vet team.
