I rarely write reviews, but the difference between my first visit to Play Street Museum and my most recent one was so drastic that I feel other parents deserve a heads up. I visited about a year ago when my daughter was two, and we had a wonderful time. The space was clean, organized, and actually felt magical for toddlers. The employee working that day constantly tidied every 20 minutes—grocery shelves were stocked, toys were put back where they belonged, and carts were available. I booked a time slot with “10+ spots left” and there were maybe five kids there. When we checked out, they even gave Zbars. It was so pleasant that, even though I live 40 minutes away, I couldn’t wait to come back. This recent visit, however, was the complete opposite—and honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever return. I booked the 10:30 session on a TUESDAY just two hours beforehand. It showed “10+ spots left,” so I expected a similar calm environment. Instead, there ended up being around 40 people packed into the space. The second I walked in—right at 10:30—shopping carts were scattered everywhere, shelves were completely empty, toys were tossed all over the floor, and nothing looked like it had been tidied after the 8:30–10:00 group. It felt chaotic and neglected. And the toys? Easily 80% were broken, missing pieces, or just gone entirely. The remaining toys were so worn down and dirty that I didn’t want my child touching them. With 20+ kids and just as many adults, you would be lucky to get even a turn with anything that was still functional. If your child enjoys pretending to shop in a grocery store with three items on the shelf and two broken carts shoved into a corner, great—this is your place. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of staff involvement. The purple-haired employee working never once got up from her chair—not once in the entire 1.5 hours. She was glued to her phone while food, toys, and trash piled around the space. No restocking, no tidying, no engagement, nothing. It honestly felt like there was no supervision at all, just a room full of chaos and parents doing damage control. When we left, instead of the Zbar we received last year, they handed out a tiny gummy—the kind you get from a Halloween variety pack. Not that the snack matters much, but it summed up the decline in quality. Overall: Save your money. This place has completely fallen apart, and it’s heartbreaking to see such a fun concept become this poorly run. Until they get staff who actually care and restore the toys and organization, I can’t recommend Play Street Museum to any parent.
10/10 with kids! My sons loved this! We were in town for a wedding and spent one morning here playing. Loved it. It’s clean, contained to a small number of kids and limited to two hours. Highly recommend if you have small kids. The goo was a great activity to take home for later too. It was a fun experiment that let to many hours of fun.
Super clean and well organized and you can tell the staff really value the quality of the toys and the facility as a whole. Quality control is ON TOP OF IT. The toys and interactive play displays are wonderful for children’s imagination as well as play. We haven’t done add on activities as my little is too young (we were not told this but it is my personal preference) , but they look super fun and worth it and will be doing those when he gets older. I would take him here every day if I could. Went ahead and bought the 5 visit pass. Worth it!
Really cool mini world for kids—our little one had a blast exploring! The space is clean, well-organized, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It did get a bit crowded during our visit, but overall a great spot for imaginative play and burning off energy.
I was googling and looking for something fun to take all my kids more or less a fun restaurant. This wasn’t quite what I was looking for, but definitely glad I ran into it. However, you do need reservations, but I’m sure if they’re slow enough they will possibly make an accommodation. I had let the lady know that I used to live in Austin but I live in San Antonio now and I was just googling looking for something fun to do and she recommended I come back and have the full experience at 2:30, but we were already there and it was extremely hot outside and we’re all inside and I was only there for My Baby. The bigger kids sat and watched and she was OK with that letting me sit in on the last 45 minutes and and charged about $17 and it was worth it. We definitely will be back. You have great ladies working at the front hospitable and sweet and reservation and full experience is something we’re looking forward to, next time we’re in town This is a perfect place for our one to seven-year-olds I do believe ages nine and 10 is a little bit big if they’re not well-behaved.
