Cadie did a great job with my hair. I got a silk press and added on deep conditioning and a trim. My hair was bouncy, shiny, and cute. I already have my next appointment booked. After I left the salon and went shopping, another woman complimented my hair. I referred her to see Cadie at Pressed Roots! The salon is very nice and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Good selection of music.
This was my first time coming here, and the salon is very clean. I love the decor and overall aesthetic of the space. I had a great stylist (I believe her name was Jess) who gave me helpful tips about hair maintenance. She gave me a great trim, cut off my split ends, and my hair looks really healthy. I am very pleased with how my hair turned out.
On Wednesdays and Sundays, Pressed Roots offers services for girls 12 and under. Yesterday, I took my 9-year-old daughter to the Arlington location for her third visit on Sunday, December 14th, 2025. She was excited to get her hair pressed for a countywide Christmas theater production she is participating in. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The stylist assigned to my daughter lacked basic people skills and customer service—especially when working with a child. I had detangled my daughter’s hair thoroughly the night before, and the stylist had no issues detangling prior to washing. However, at the shampoo bowl, my daughter was clearly in pain and visibly uncomfortable. There was no acknowledgment, reassurance, or attempt to be gentle. When we returned to the chair, I calmly explained that my daughter’s scalp is tender when her hair is wet. The stylist dismissed this and responded, “Oh, I didn’t have any problem combing through her hair,” which had nothing to do with my concern. After that, the stylist became even more aggressive—using the blow dryer on the highest heat setting and yanking my daughter’s hair as if she were a mannequin head. My daughter began crying hysterically. I had to step in, stop the service, and physically remove my child from the chair while she was crying and screaming. The stylist never apologized, never checked on my daughter, and showed no concern whatsoever. The situation was so uncomfortable that another stylist and a nearby parent were visibly concerned. We left the salon with half of my daughter’s hair blow-dried and the other half still wet. I informed the receptionist, who took my number for a manager to follow up. The stylist took zero accountability and stated she was “trying to help get us out fast”—which was never requested or communicated. When I did not receive a call, I contacted the salon myself the following day. The manager stated she was unaware of the incident and offered 20% off a future appointment and reassignment to a different stylist. I declined, as we will not be returning, and requested a 50% refund since only half of the service was completed. She stated they do not issue refunds but placed me on hold and later said she processed a $47 refund. However, after checking my bank account, I discovered only $7 was refunded. Between the lack of care toward a child, the absence of accountability, and now dishonesty regarding the refund, this experience was unacceptable. I would strongly caution parents before bringing their children to this location.
Cheilion is the best stylist I've encountered, period! I have been natural since 2007 and only doing wash and go, starting 2020 due to time management and having small children. I only went to the saloon once a year to trim my hair and switch it up with a straight style, not anymore. Cheilion has been the only stylist to give me top tier suggestions and tips on what my hair needs especially being color treated. She was direct, thoughtful and attentive to my strands and has a wealth of hair knowledge. Color does a number on your hair and I needed a trim, information on what I needed for my color, hair health and retention. She gave me a checklist on what I need to do before our next appointment and I'm looking forward to great results and an update in April. I had an appointment at Pressed last year with a different stylist and the experience was night and day she wasn't bad but when you get the best you don't look back. I finally found my master stylist person!
This was my first time at Pressed Roots and I had an amazing experience! My stylist, Cadie, was fantastic—she walked me through the entire process and made me feel so comfortable. She was very knowledgeable about my hair and even recommended a steam treatment to help with my dry scalp. I have issues with dandruff and brought my prescribed shampoo, and she had no problem using it before applying their products, which I really appreciated. The salon itself is beautiful and super clean, and the vibe was great—good music and an overall welcoming atmosphere. I felt genuinely cared for and confident in the service. I ended up signing up for a membership because I know I’ll be coming back. Highly recommend!
