This is the third time that we have used Robart Electric and they have always been very professional and honest. We had an outlet melt down and it seized a plug. We were going to have a GFI installed but Trevor said that was overkill and we should return it. He solved our problem with a regular outlet and everything is working perfectly now.

We had hired Robart Electrical for 3 different jobs over the span of two weeks. Each time the electrician was on time and completed the work in a timely and efficient manner. The electrician was very pleasant and professional. We will definitely use their services again in the future.
I was surprised to find that the service call could be booked quickly. The contractor who arrived to install our new fixtures was very experienced and was able to install 5 new fixtures quickly and efficiently. I was pleased to be able to pay the invoice online
Overall I believe Robart did complete the electrical work that I needed done (service upgrade and panel replacement) and do not have concerns with the safety or code of the work they did. My feedback would be that the process and communication could be improved. While the person who came out to do the quote seemed very knowledgeable and experienced, I did not realize this would be the only opportunity I would get to discuss the job and understand what options were available. Once I signed the contract 3 months in advance, I had assumed there would be more follow up until the day of the job. Then I had to call the office the day before to confirm, because I had not heard from anyone. From there they asked - did you dig your trench yet? - which I didn’t realize we had to do ourselves and gave us little time to do this manual labor. One touchpoint earlier would have saved us a lot of hassle. Then on the day-of the person who arrived only introduced himself to the extent he was from Robart. No name, no note if he was even an electrician. Then he proceeded to almost get straight to work, and I had to stop him and ask if he could go over the details of the quote. Considering he was not the same person who originally came and it had been 3 months, I wanted to be sure we were all on the same page. Sure enough, the place where he was to put our new panel was not where we originally discussed. We communicated this, and he just proceeded to say “it’s whatever you want”. But the problem was not that we “wanted” anything specifically, we considered them the experts and wanted to know the reason for the change, what the options were and if - to their expertise - there was any electrical or financial considerations from one or the other location. We are not the experts here, and from the customer side expect they would have the technical exercise to explain the options and if a choice needed to be made we would address it as ‘the best option’. Not just ‘whatever you want’. This came up a few other times through the two days. And ultimately the way that our install looks is not as pretty as if we would have known some options beforehand, like I probably would have wanted them to put the cables behind the drywall and would have made time to cut open the drywall in the right place and patch it later had we been able to firm up the plan better in advance. Instead there’s huge cables coming down from my garage ceiling along the wall. At the end of the day, my lights turn on and I have the electrical I need. But for 5 stars or to hire them again, I would really need to be further reassured of their professionalism through better communication.
