My daughter has been taking a weekly group lesson at RHEC for just under 2 years. She rides with a great group of girls and her trainer Summer is fantastic. I appreciate that Ellen works hard to keep the lesson program affordable for riders just starting out. We are looking forward to more time at the barn this summer.
My oldest daughter started riding at Rockwall Hills 5 years ago when she was in kindergarten. She immediately fell in love with horses and that love has been fostered through the riding lessons she has experienced with the amazing trainers at RHEC. My youngest daughter started riding about a year ago as well and it has been fun to watch her grow in her skills. I credit the knowledgeable staff for the strides and improvement we have seen in our girls’ riding abilities. They know when to push and encourage to get the best out of riders. I must also say that the training horses are amazing and I have full trust in the horses when my daughters are riding. We highly recommend Rockwall Hills for all types of riders, especially littles that are wanting to the explore their love of horses.
We have been coming here for many years. It was the easiest place to schedule our first ride when we knew nothing about horses or riding (everyone else didn’t get back to us or we couldn’t reach them after many tries). The trainers have been very patient and knowledgeable (we have had Summer as our trainer for most of our time). They had everything we needed to get started to see if this was something my child wanted to do long term. My child has learned from each horse they have for lessons. She has also made some great friends along the way. ❤️
I have been riding here for over 5 years and boarded 2 of my previous horses there. Ellen always helped me excel in my riding abilities and challenged me everyday to be better. I learned from a young age how to be independent, social, and have a great work ethic because of rockwall hills. This barn will forever have a special place in my heart and so many memories with my favorite people and closest friends. summer is my favorite person ever and has always been there for me and provides the best comedic relief and life advice.
Was a fun spot. It's definitely an immersion experience and not a handheld lesson. The stables are very big with a large arena to practice in. We came for a lesson for my daughter. She very much enjoyed the experience and the horse. The lesson was all about the care, prep, riding, and clean up for the whole horse. I agree with teaching the kiddos everything, not just the riding part. Our trainer was Katia, and she was very patient with my daughter and a wealth of knowledge on the horses and facility. The pony was BeeBop, and he was very well mannered and easy to ride (from what I could tell). If it's your first lesson, the meeting spot is in the first large building with the arena inside. The right large door to the stables is where we found the start of the lesson.
