I was having temperature issues with my GPU that I couldn't fix no matter what I did -- and it was quite a bit, I've been building PCs for many years -- so I called them up and described my issue and attempted fixes. They told me that I did everything they would do, and that it wouldn't be helpful to bring it in, I should just look for a new card. I'm not at all upset about my GPU, I'm simply over the moon with the integrity and honesty of this repair shop. Any time I need anything for a computer going forward, I'll try to get it from them, and I highly recommend checking them out if you're having trouble. They're clearly honest and professional, and they know their stuff; an invaluable combo. Thank you SD Bytes!
I dropped by SD Bytes around 4pm Wednesday to get some bent pins on my CPU fixed. The friendly gentleman at the counter looks at it under a magnifying glass and starts fixing it on the spot. And within minutes he sends me on my way home with a fixed CPU. That's customer service.
Today I picked up my Lenovo computer from SD Bytes Computer Repair, and I must say, I made the right choice. As someone who had been in business for decades, I learned a number of things when it comes to choosing a service provider; Most importantly, you need to find people who are good listeners, who are experts in their field, who take pride in their work, and who never put money ahead of people. When you find such people, you no longer need to be concerned about the prices they charge, the quality of their work, or them living up to their commitment. That's a promise that I can make. I typically don't leave reviews, but in this case, I felt obligated to share my experiences with Marco, considering he did an absolutely amazing job for me. Add to that, I found the price of the repair to be much lower that I would have thought. Add to that, even though my 2023 ThinkPad was still under the factory warranty I had paid additional money for, my interest was in getting the repair done fast, and these guys turned it around in one day. Accordingly, if you are looking for someone who can help you with your computers, there's no doubt in my mind: SD Bytes on Friars Rd. has the right people, so it's the place to go.
Super kind and professional. I called shortly after open in the morning about faulty Bluetooth on an older Macbook Pro I have, and Shannon gave me a quote and told me I could have the laptop repaired and returned same-day. I took a second Samsung laptop with me that also had a few small issues, and he took the second machine no questions asked to look at as well. The Bluetooth fix was just a bad connection inside the machine, which he was able to reconnect, correct and test easily; despite the diagnosis from the Apple Genius Bar that my laptop was totaled and I needed to buy a whole new computer. Shannon didn't charge me for this fix. He completed a clean of a single board inside the Samsung laptop that had some corrosion on it, and charged me less than their advertised flat rate for the work, and refused my offer to pay them more. 10/5 stars do recommend, and will go back for any future repairs.
Their team is professional and quick. Reasonable price for fixing water damage. 10/10 Recommended! The only thing you need to notice is they have 3% service fee if you use card. No service fee for cash.
