I’ve been a member here for several months and have nothing but good things to say about Skyhook. Super welcoming, great routes, very approachable classes, and all sorts of neat stuff I wouldn’t have thought to ask for (plant wall! gym! coworking desks!). Highly recommend to anyone regardless of their climbing experience.
Best climbing gym ever! The routes are always well thought out and super interesting (even lower grade climbs are super unique), the staff makes the gym feel like a community, the owner is absolutely the nicest person ever, and everyone there is always so friendly and willing to help if you need. This place has built a home for me as a climber! Also 24/7 access as a member is the best thing ever as a night shift worker!
What a wonderful experience! I was in town visiting friends and came here to climb for the day with friends. I like variety of different styles of routes and that their level is based of their color which made it easier to do the routes. The staff was super friendly and funny and gave me a full tour of the facilities. Would definitely be a member here if I live in town. Will come back next visit! Thank you!
staff were nice and setting was interesting and fun, relatively small bouldering gym only. several major qualms however: 1) no loose / powder chalk, which really hinders my ability to climb and im a sweaty girl, liquid chalk just doesn’t work well for me, and i didn’t want to be disrespectful and not follow this policy 2) mats are extremely firm and not quite wide enough, multiple times i felt as if i needed to spot strangers because they got so close to the concrete 3) really dark in some parts of the cave areas 4) eight (?) different color grades on a circuit, which i find is way too many but this is a very subjective opinion
Skyhook's route setting is so unique and creative, you don't have to send difficult routes to find really engaging projects. Staff is friendly and their customer service is incredible. As someone who frequently works night shifts, the value of 24/7 access cannot be understated.
