Jay came to my home today to fix my furnace and he did an amazing job. He was very knowledgeable and worked extremely hard to get the job done. Was very well mannered and polite and I am very grateful he was chosen to come to my home. He did such a wonderful job, Thank you Jay for all your hard work. Truly a professional. Our midcentury modern house was a quite a beast but SmartHouse helped us every step of the way with an entirely new system. Our home has been so cozy during the storm! The entire crew and was fantastic to work with. Marc especially went above and beyond when our system needed a tweak. We used Smarthouse to install a dual-fuel system (new heat pump and 97% efficiency gas furnace) to replace our 30-year old 6 SEER AC and 80% furnace. We probably could have eked out another few years with this system, but the tax credit is expiring at the end of the year, and I didn't want the system to break on the hottest/coldest days of the year, as they like to do. I went with Smarthouse because the owner Marc and sales manager Tim were both very patient with all my questions (this was my first HVAC replacement), and their pricing was more reasonable than another company, and with better equipment than the two that quoted lower. Several companies were not really interested in quoting or installing heat pumps, and didn't bother to tell us that before coming out to quote a traditional AC & furnace. The installation was completed in 1 day (8 a.m. till 4ish) and the installation team was very considerate of leaving the house clean even though I'm sure they had a ton of work to do to bring our system up-to-date. The system works great so far (we still need cooling even in mid-October now!). I'm looking forward to seeing how the heat pump does over 30 degrees, and the furnace at lower temps. There was possibly a minor issue that made an occasional whistling sound, and they sent out a tech the next day after I reported it to troubleshoot. He wasn't able to recreate the sound and possibly had fixed it by smoothing down tape, but with their great warranty, they'll come back out if it does happen again. I was also impressed by the techs taking the time to explain things as well, everything from the thermostat after installation to talking through the whistling issue with me. I'm happy with Smarthouse and I'm glad I went with them.

I had paper wasps set up a nest right behind the exhaust vent cover for my basement furnace. I called my Pest Control company and had them render the nest and wasps defunct. Then I called my regular HVAC provider, requesting they remove the now dead/inactive nest and any dead wasps, then scope the line to check for any potential debris or other obstructions, to be safe. My regular HVAC provider declined the job, stating they "don't do wasps" and "don't have a scope long enough." (Whaaat??) I even offered to show them the Pest Control invoice, but no. Just nope. They refused. Enter SmartHouse Heating and Cooling. The office worker who took my call was kind, mature, and knowledgeable. She knew exactly what I was talking about and was confident that not only had SmartHouse dealt with similar situations before, they could absolutely help with my situation. They offered to send out a tech **the next day.** Amazing. Today, I was blessed with Zach S., my assigned tech. He called to let me know he had availability earlier than scheduled if I wanted it. I did. He showed up within 20 minutes and immediately got to work. He quickly removed the dead wasp nest and dead wasps present at the entry of the exhaust vent. He then expertly scoped the exhaust pipe down to the first bend, encountering a few more stray dead wasps. He was able to remove these using the scope and a shop vac. He also found a bend in the PVC where the other HVAC company had never glued it. He was able to use this to his advantage to further verify with the shop vac that the vent was clear and unobstructed. He then glued the PVC together in the location in question and replaced the exhaust vent cover when he was done. He was super professional, knowledgeable, kind, respectful and friendly. I could not be more happy and am able to rest easy knowing that my furnace is safe to turn on in the Fall, and everything will be in working order. I will not hesitate to hire SmartHouse again for future jobs, and recommend them on the strongest possible terms to anyone else looking for superior service. Thank you so much.
