I always find myself here around the holidays grabbing items for gifts. The owners/workers are always friendly, helpful - but not overbearing and let you take your time. Great spot in the neighborhood.
Honestly, just walk in give them a budget, flavor profile, and occasion and without fail you will walk out with exactly the wine that you need.
What the shop doesn’t have in selection size it more than makes up for in quality. The owner is super knowledgeable and has curated an inventory that will satisfy even the most sophisticated palates. Prices aren’t the cheapest but they shouldn’t be. The price premium exists for the luxury of being able to leave the shop every time with a guarantee that the wine you bought isn’t a good wine but a great wine! If you want a larger selection go to Total Wine and More, but understand that you’ll have a much greater probability of buying a disappointing wine.
This is quite LITERALLY my favorite wine shop of all time. I have been coming here for about 3 years now and every single visit is extremely enjoyable! It's amazing to walk in and staff recognize you or even remember what you purchased/tried previously without even looking you up in their database! I completely trust the staff recommendations as I have yet to be stirred wrong when trying something new; when can you ever say something like that with confidence? Their knowledge and description of each product is astounding and immensely impressive to say the least. Their wine selection is incredible and priced very well. It is always such a joyful and pleasurable experience when I stop in. Social Wines is my number one spot. The best wine shop with the most incredible owners and staff in Boston truly deserves all of the recognize and praise! Thank you for being amazing 😊
