My great grandmother’s rocking chair had the caning break through when a guest sat upon it. I put it in the garage. Then I moved my car in and pushed the rocker into the wall. The arm splintered. I didn’t think it could be repaired. I was so surprised when I saw the finished project. The damage repair is invisible. Likewise with a cocktail table that was badly damaged. Jose restored an antique (close to 100 years old) child's wicker chair that belonged to my father as a child. He repaired so many parts that were falling apart and even replaced the seat. I inherited a 1960s, fully-caned, mod sofa-table from my chic interior decorator grandmother. But the flat binder caning had nearly disintegrated after 50+ years (and my kids finished it off with a pair of scissors). Sorto completely remade the table from scratch. It's like new, and I couldn't be happier that this family design heirloom has another life. It's gorgeous!
