We had such a great first experience at Super Awesome! I called ahead and walked in, and Cinthia greeted us right away. It was our two year old son’s first real haircut (he’s only had one before), and she was incredibly kind and patient as he warmed up to the chair. The car-shaped seats and fun waiting area made everything even easier. We absolutely love how his haircut turned out and will definitely be coming back to see Cinthia again!
A beyond wonderful place! The team is so welcoming, the salon itself is so clean & cute -- and it is way more relaxed than some of these other crazy salons for kids that feel like factories with tons of screaming kids crying in the lobby. My son enjoyed his first hair cut here and it was everything we'd hoped for and more! He didn't cry during the cut and our hairstylist was so brilliant -- cutting his hair exactly like the photo I'd brought in. It's an absolutely handy spot on the West Side and a great option for folks in Samo, Venice, Playa Vista, Culver, etc. Go there!!!
Finally, a “Super” cute, modern hair salon that my kids actually beg me to take them to! With two young boys hair cuts have proven to be so challenging so when I came across SuperAwesome I was so excited! The vibe, the details, the skill of the stylists, were all on point and my kids loved the whole experience! To top it all off they got to choose a toy when the stylist was finished! It was the cherry on top. I can’t imagine taking them anywhere else!
I am beyond disappointed with our experience here. I brought my son in with his beautiful long, blond surfer hair, ready for a big (but carefully planned) cut. I showed them a photo of exactly what I wanted and made it very clear that his hair is a big part of his identity—I asked them to keep it long and beachy. Instead, they did the exact opposite. His hair is now much shorter than I requested, with choppy layers that will take forever to grow out. If you have a specific style in mind for your child, do not come here. Despite my clear instructions, it seems they either do whatever they want or simply lack the skill to follow a request. To make matters worse, when I expressed my disappointment, they barely acknowledged it—just a quick “sorry” and sent us on our way. No offer to make it right, no real apology, and certainly no refund. Hair grows back, but I wasn’t prepared for such a frustrating experience, and I’m still processing how careless they were with something so important to us. Worst $50 I’ve ever spent. We LOVE SuperAwesome. Our 3 year old has been twice and loves getting his hair cut there. It’s really cute how everyone treats the kids so respectfully and as clientele! and I think it makes a huge difference in getting our son to cooperate through the cut. He gets a juicebox and a tablet to keep him occupied during the cut, and a toy at the end of the experience. There’s also a photobooth and giftshop to top off the fun. Lastly and most importantly, the stylists are skillful so I love watching them work their magic.
