We have had a good experience with tutoring at Sylvan. The teachers are wonderful and the program has help my kid a great deal with reading and confidence.
Our son absolutely adores Sylvan - Mr. Bill and Ms. Rene are wonderful. He is reading much more fluently lately. Looking forward to his next assessment to see how much progress he has made!
It was extremely easy and quick to book an assessment and subsequently schedule sessions for the summer. Our son loves the rewards system and the instructors who are passionate about teaching (both reading/writing and math). He even asked to come in for additional sessions. Because he is on an irregular "float" schedule, there were a couple of scheduling glitches that needed to be corrected but they were addressed in a very timely manner. Thank you Sylvan staff for fostering a love of learning over the summer!
We entered this program with skepticism, not knowing where we would land and if it would even help a nervous 13yo whom was struggling to keep up and has test anxiety. It's only been 6 months and I am completely amazed! The confidence and understanding my son has gained, even in a short amount of time has been transformative and we are excited to continue. He is getting better test scores, better grades on assignments, and he is excited to come home and share his work. I believe it can only get better from here. Maria, the center director, is so kind and informative, she truly believes in what she does and can tell she wants the best for her students. Don't over look this place, it has given us hope for a brighter academic future!
I wanted to give a huge THANK YOU to the team at Sylvan Learning East ABQ! My wife and I had our son's annual IEP meeting at the beginning of March, and every person involved made the comment that our son has been a completely changed kid since Winter Break (addition of Sylvan in learning curriculum). They are noticing changes not only in the closure of his grade level gap, but they also communicated our son's improvement in confidence, helping other students with their work, and his independence. We had friends tell us that we would receive this effect from Sylvan, but it is AMAZING and rewarding to actually hear it from his educators.
