Every visit to the Cleveland Museum of Art is a profound experience. The museum's exquisite collection, which spans continents and centuries, offers an unparalleled journey through the history of human creativity. The architecture itself is a masterpiece, providing a serene environment that enhances the art on display. The staff is gracious and knowledgeable, making it a joy to explore the exhibits. For anyone seeking a rich cultural experience in Cleveland, this museum is an absolute must.
The Cleveland Museum of Art is one of those rare institutions that quietly exceeds every expectation. Its collection of Old Masters is remarkably deep, offering visitors the chance to encounter works of extraordinary quality in an intimate, thoughtfully curated setting. Equally impressive is the museum’s Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art, which holds its own alongside far more famous collections in New York, Paris, or London. The museum’s newer wing elevates the experience even further. Architecturally striking yet respectful of the original building, it creates a seamless flow between classical and modern spaces and allows the art to be seen with clarity and grace. The result is a museum that feels both timeless and forward-looking. Taken as a whole, the Cleveland Museum of Art deserves to be counted among the great museums of the world. If you find yourself in Cleveland, a visit is not just recommended—it’s essential.
There’s nothing like it - you could spend days wandering through galleries and never see it all…and it’s free! There are periodically special exhibits with a ticket charge, but they’re always more than worth it (e.g. the current Italian fashion exhibit and the recent Takashi Murakami installation). You’ll find it all here - old masters, impressionists, ancient sculpture…plus a lovely atrium, restaurant, gift shop, and attached parking.
The Cleveland Museum of Art never disappoints this Renaissance to runway special exhibit was mesmerizing! Each piece and the story behind it were so well presented and organized. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience to be surrounded by so many designer and luxury gowns, jackets, and even some shoes. I took high school students on a field trip and they were so impressed. I also went with family, and everyone of all ages can really find a value in this exhibit. Excellent presentation and well planned Gallery. This is something not to miss!
One of the countries best art museums I've ever visited. Glad that this gem is in our backyard of Cleveland, and love that it has free admission as well. Sometimes special exhibits have their own entry fee, but the majority of the museum remains free for all. I like to visit every few months to see what has changed and they have a cool thing they will display near a new piece letting you know that it is a new addition to the museum. Cafe is also nice and all the employees are very friendly and informative.
