Sarah was absolutely amazing from the moment I walked through the door. She made me feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of right away. She was incredibly attentive, warm, and thoughtful, anticipating my needs before I even had to ask for anything. At no point did she seem annoyed, rushed, or too occupied, which made the experience feel effortless and personal. I want to be clear that I’m not just saying this because I work in customer service—I notice service, and Sarah is a true standout. What impressed me even more was that this wasn’t just my experience; I watched her give the same level of care and attention to other patrons throughout the venue. She’s an absolute star and truly elevates the entire experience. The food was also absolutely amazing. Everything came out in a timely fashion, the flavors were on point, and the drinks were flawless. The unlimited drinks for $27.99 is truly unbeatable. The only small suggestion would be adding the cheese to the outside of the burrito taco and crisping the outside a bit more for extra crunch—but aside from that, everything was excellent.

We found this spot, The Flying Mexican, thanks to a passerby’s recommendation, and it turned out to be one of the best places we’ve tried in Southeast DC, especially around Eastern Market. From the moment we walked in, we loved the cozy, welcoming vibe of the restaurant. The portion sizes were huge, which was honestly one of the best parts. The buffalo chicken sandwich was amazing — flavorful, perfectly cooked, and very satisfying. We also ordered a burrito, which was surprisingly unique and absolutely delicious. Every bite felt thoughtfully made, and we genuinely loved every part of the experience. Overall, great food, generous portions, and a cozy atmosphere make this place a must-visit. We’d definitely come back again!
I loved the Flying Mexican! I had the steak and chicken fajitas with all the fixings. All fresh and homemade. Delicious. It has a fun, yet homey atmosphere with a lot of local art. The staff was smiling and courteous. I’d like to note how especially delicious their homemade infused tequilas were. Their margaritas are hard to top! I tried a few hehe ;) Must try the Piña Loco Margarita!!
The food was delicious! Especially the Lamb Barbacoa Tacos! The atmosphere was great, the guy that I think is the owner or manager was really nice and personable and took care of us. I couldn’t stand the only server I could see. It was 4:30pm and it was not busy enough for him to not be able handle all of his duties especially with the other staff helping him out. He literally told the other staff that he couldn’t bus the table because he had to take someone’s order. The place was almost empty. I really, really enjoyed the food though. We just won’t be sitting at a table anymore, we’ll stick to the bar.
