I’d never heard of this venue until some comedians I like did a few shows here. It’s a nice space! Two intimate theaters and a small bar. This is what a comedy club should be. I’ll definitely be back in the future to check out other shows.
Beautiful theater in JV! I’ve been a couple of times, and I can’t recommend it enough. Hilarious, affordable, and has very nice bar. Nice to have a fun night out and see quality comedy without having to venture to theater district or downtown.
My wife and I have been out to enjoy these always unique comedy improv skits several times with our family and friends, and most recently at a company sponsored special event. We have always had an amazing time. The staff and the venue are fantastic and the comedy skits and performers could not be more fun. If you're looking for a great time and a super convenient location with easy parking you won't find better value.
The Good Friend Theater is a creative’s dream. How wonderful to have a home in Houston to not only see incredibly well produced (and hilarious) shows, but also to take improv classes where all are welcomed and supported/surrounded by top-notch talent. Oh and did I mention there’s a bar?! The bar scene is so fun on its own too and they have a great drink selection. Check out GFT. You and your (good) friends will love it. Oh and if you care about clean bathrooms-they are not only clean but also have pictures of all the improv team members dogs on the walls. A sweet touch. Highly recommend for all Houstonians near and far.
*Update* I visited the new location and it’s gorgeous! Plenty of parking, excellent bar, plenty of food options nearby. And of course great improv talent! I know they’re moving locations soon, but I had to give them a shoutout for putting on such wonderful shows! In addition to their flagship matches on Friday and Saturday nights, I was lucky enough to attend a musical improv show—which was phenomenal. I’m glad I checked it out while visiting from San Antonio!
