I feel immensely grateful for a gym like this to exist here in Kitchener (and in general). As an autistic person, I’ve always been overwhelmed and intimidated by traditional gyms - the crowds, the machines, the process of everything, knowing what’s right for my body and goals, etc. I’ve been working 1:1 between Derek, Stacey, and Erika for 3 - 4 months now. Every session feels like a really good challenge, while also being sensitive to where I’m at, how I feel, and any mobility issues. The vibe is super low pressure, friendly, and fun. I definitely notice a positive difference in my strength, balance, posture, energy levels, mental clarity and focus, and more. I also feel way more body-aware and confident in using the equipment and machines, and look forward to transitioning to group sessions soon :) I’m extremely grateful to this team - thank you for creating such a stellar program and environment, especially for us introverts!
I been a member of many gyms/fitness centers, between 3 countries, and so many different styles and locations; and none of the gyms compare to DC Fitness. From the moment I stepped through the door, it felt like home. Classes are challenging, and if there are ever difficulties, Erika or Derek will work with you to find alternative form or exercises. My fellow members are all very cool, interesting, and serious about their health. It's an environment that is supportive and judgement-free. I have been a member for 14 months, and I look forward to attending the the classes every week, and my training sessions with Erika (and sometimes Derek.) I have lost 6 dress sizes, no longer have issues with my knees, and actually gained some muscle. I feel super strong. I can't say enough great things about the DC team. Their knowledge, and the care and energy they put into each one of us members shows through our successes. I highly recommend!
I've been going to DC Fitness for personal training for 15 months and it is THE single best decision and investment I have ever made, by far! Erika is an amazing trainer and has taught me everything about strength training and weightlifting from the ground up because I was a total beginner. Beyond that, Erika, and the whole team at DC care about you as a whole person and are so welcoming, supportive, kind, and will go the extra effort to help you!
I've been a member for nearly a year and my twice-weekly lunch sessions are a highlight of every week! The team at DC is fantastic (especially Erika and Derek, if you're lucky enough to work with them) and the other members are always encouraging and supportive. I've been to a number of gyms over the years, but rarely one that I genuinely enjoy spending time in like this. Highly, highly recommend DC Fitness - as long as you aren't overcrowding my classes 😄
I would highly recommend looking into training at DC Fitness. All of the staff are very friendly, and the trainers work with you as an individual, adjusting your routine as needed. Whether due to injury or change in goals. Derek, Erika, and Josh are all fantastic coaches and personable. 5/5 stars not a single dumbbell dropped on my head.
