Wonderful service from John!! I broke a ring that my Mom gave me just before she passed and I was so upset. I went to John, explained what happened and how anxious I was to get it repaired. Not only was he sympathetic but said he would get it fixed by the next day!! I just picked it up and it looks brand new!! I was so happy I could’ve cried. Recently brought my ring in for resizing. Upon receiving it, it's perfect! It fits perfectly, it sparkles and shines better than when I first purchased it! From the first visit of getting resized, to picking up my ring, the environment and staff was warm and friendly. I will continue to use Thompson's for all my jewelry needs!

I just had a pretty sour experience here. I got my fiancé a diamond ring that needs to be sized down. I called in and they said they could do it in a few days, which was fine. But I said that I’d like to have a confirmation of the diamond GIA number before we leave it with them. No offense to them or their reputation but it’s a quality diamond and a jeweler once switched out my mother’s diamond and gaslit her saying it was the same one. It was a simple request, I just wanted to see the engraving. He said we could leave it with him and he’d write it down for us. When I gently pressed saying I meant no offense but it’s my first time getting a diamond and I just wanted to verify it, he told me that he didn’t want that vibe in the air and to go find another jeweler. I was not rude. I just wanted to see the laser engraving on the diamond with him before leaving it with them on good faith. Pretty sketch to me that he got so defensive and turned me away just for asking something so basic and honestly it was kind of bizarre. Apparently if you don’t agree to blindly trust them on your first interaction, they don’t want the business. Make that one make sense to me! We called another place and they were super understanding and reasonable. Would not recommend this jeweler unless you’re willing to blindly trust him.
10/10 Would highly recommend Thompsons Custom Jewelry. I drove from KCMO to their store based on their reviews and amazing customer service. They were able to help me with the design I wanted and made the most beautiful engagement ring for me. Prices were fantastic. Great customer service and very welcoming and friendly. They did an amazing job and my Fiancé loves the ring. You don't get this kind of quality and service at the " big box" Jewelry stores. Wont shop any where else ever again, This is my go to store.
