Been meaning to call in for ages. Had a walk along the canal today with a friend today and we called in. Lovely coffee. Lovely cream scone. Lovely staff. Lovely setting right by the canal. They’ve even managed to squeeze in a toilet, which is handy!
Stayed nearby and in the morning we had a stroll along the canal towpath and came across this small tea room. I was not expecting to see any vegan options, but was pleasantly surprised to see plant milk (oat only) on offer, as well as some vegan food. The food menu is very limited, it’s more of a hot drinks place, but I really enjoyed the Cherry Bakewell cinnebon accompanied by a big teapot of Yorkshire Tea. Bliss on a cold morning! The soup looked delicious, I would return for lunch next time to give that a try. Very popular at the weekend. Check socials for opening times as this may vary.
An excellent place to visit! The presentation is top notch and everything is of high quality. There’s a clean toilet available which is always a plus. It’s the perfect spot for a cuppa and a sweet treat. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. It’s definitely worth a visit in its own right such a lovely spot. We stopped here as part of a canal walk from Rodley to Apperley Bridge, and it was a real highlight. Highly recommended!
6 ⭐ if I I can. The Victoria cake is the best I have ever had. The cream for the scone is excellent. Maybe it is partly because of the nice weather and pretty, cosy environment. All of us were so delighted. I would say this is a must stop point of the canal walk, long or short😂. This is the most enjoyable experience in the walk. I saw some cows walking by on the bright green pastures at the other side of the clear water canal. I talked with the shopper and she said they only open the cafe in good weather. And please check the opening time update in the Facebook. The cafe is a family business. They may have the trip for a week and close the cafe ,and will have a different opening time from September, too. Check Facebook.
