Update: the owner called the next day to check if the issue was fixed and it wasn’t so he came the same day. This was very much appreciated. A part had to be ordered so we had to wait another few days for the part to arrive. A new part was installed the following week, however this also didn’t fix the issue. I texted the owner the next day as the same error message continued after the second visit. He said he needs to check on the parts but I didn’t hear back for many hours so had to text him again. The issue was misdiagnosed twice and I wish we had known from the beginning what the situation was as we were without a dishwasher close to a month and decided to order a new one as the third diagnosis was to order a part for $600-700 and this was also a guess. Original visit: The person on the phone could have been a little friendlier and try to give a more exact ETA which he said is the window between 2 and 4. It is not uncommon for the technician to call thirty minutes before arrival to give a heads up. One star off for that. Max the technician spent some time on the floor trying to diagnose the problem with the dishwasher. Time will tell if he was right but he put in a decent amount of time so we’ll see. Said the most likely reason for the leak was that some dishes could be hitting the arm that sprays the water meaning we didn’t place the dishes in correctly. I was doubtful this was the reason as we make sure this is not the case when loading the dishwasher. $90 was the fee.
Max arrived promptly, was very friendly and courteous, and communicated clearly. He determined there was no problem with my washing machine and made some suggestions for the future to avoid a repeat of the issue.
