Tortilla is an unassuming establishment, yet it commands attention through the integrity of its offerings. I chose the nachos with chicken, guacamole, and nacho cheese, and from the very first bite, it was clear that simplicity, when executed with care, can achieve perfection. The chicken was tender and flavorful, while the cheese was rich without excess, complementing the crisp, well prepared nachos. The restaurant itself is immaculate, and the staff are courteous and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. It is important to note that only the chicken is halal the remainder of the menu does not conform to such standards. Nevertheless, the meal accomplished a rare and admirable feat it pleased both the palate and the intellect. Tortilla is modest in appearance, yet it demonstrates a culinary honesty and attention to detail that demands recognition.
My friend and I got delivered two burritos, which were not what we asked for, and incredibly bland. Until the last few bites, mine was just rice and salsa. It also had guac which I didn’t ask for as I am allergic to it. So thank you. (image attached, same burger at start and towards the end). My friends had no pork, cheese or lettuce, and only a dollop of sour cream in the final bite. Another burrito, not what we asked for, nor I think anyone would ask for just rice and salsa. Very annoyed Tortilla could not help me either. I do love Tortilla, but this is very disappointing, especially when I have just read another customer complain about the same issue.
Normally we love this place but our experience on Saturday was awful. It was very busy so we had to wait 25 mins for our food, which is understandable but when it came out it was the worst we’ve ever had. Our tortillas were mainly just rice, I couldn’t even taste any chilli in it at all, let alone any of the other extras we’d added. My child’s quesadilla came out so small that I questioned if they had forgotten something or had done it wrong (pic with a nacho for scale, this cost us £7.50!!). Staff were really rude when I queried it. Tables were so close together that we felt really uncomfortable. Overall was really disappointed.
Visited yesterday (22/12/2025), it was really busy as expected with the time of year, and we were politely informed as soon as we entered that there would be around a 15 minute wait. I thought this was great service as it let people make the decision about whether they wanted to wait. Staff received abuse from one man when they let him know it was a longer wait than usual and they handled it really well, didn’t deserve to be shouted at. It’s so close to Christmas people should know everywhere will be packed and longer waits are expected!
I have to say I am a bit of a fan of the tacos from Tortilla, and is one of my go to places for a light lunch. They make a nice fresh and tasty, but light meal. This time I tried out the branch of Tortilla at Cabot Circus. What I like about the food, is it tastes very fresh, true the chicken has been around for a while, but combined with the fresh salad, salsa, and toppings, they are delicious. Can be a bit messy to eat, so I usually use a fork, but in theory you can eat them by hand. Really enjoyed these tacos and they made a nice lunch.
