This was a long due messsage.. but here it finally is :) I am forever grateful for David and his team for the amazing support ! Here is my testimony : I started this journey in so much pain, I could barely walk for more than 10min in December 2022. In January 2023 I started to join a gym with my boyfriend only to realize that there were a lot of movements I couldn’t do. My posture was off and mobility was very restricted. I met my chiropractor and worked with him for about 9 month on correctives exercises and I could walk again up to 60min! I started to feel stronger and decided to get back in shape. When I joined turnfit I couldn’t do dead bugs without an arch on my back. Bird and dog were out of question! I started with lots of mobility movement, understanding more and more of my body language and the posture or issues that it was facing. Squats were the most challenging and even now I need tricks to be able to do them properly, but I do them and I’m very proud! In only 3months I had improved so much already! But most importantly I broke my main believe that I « can’t » do certain things and as David just said I now know I « will » and it’s just a matter of time before I prove myself that I am limitless. This journey has been challenging in many ways. One of them was to realize that despite all my effort I could relax my muscles enough to achieve the exercise correctly, only to realize that my current work was burning me out. I’m now recovering and trying to let my body relax while slowly getting back on my neatly routine. It took my trainer Marijana consistant faith, along with David's frequent follow ups and words of support, to be able to hold onto training twice a week as my body was ready to give up altogether. Thanks to her encouragements and her amazing ability to show me how strong I was despite my beliefs I have carried on my commitment and will soon be back on my feet and stronger than ever. The empowerment I started to feel thanks to the workout and to Marijana has helped me to realize that the only person that stopped me was myself and my lack of knowledge about my body. Im so proud and happy I turned to you guys to show me the way! - I am now 4 year after consistantly hitting the gym 3-4 times a week ! I have been able to dance again and going back to hike the beautiful trails of BC. I'm forever grateful for people like David and Marijana, who go above and beyond and inspire you so much that you have no other choice but to believe it will all work out (no pun intended!)
I had a really good experience with David and his team. Tim has been great, I can feel that I’ve built up my strength again and since Tim is a kinesiologist, he’s very knowledgeable about proper technique and is always helping me improve my posture and technique. Shirley also took the time to prepare a plan for me while I was interprovince so I could still continue my program during this time in between sessions. There was an initial hiccup with my scheduling so I did end up with two different trainers initially, but it was corrected early. Thank you Turnfit Team!
Training with Shirley has been an incredible experience. She is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain every exercise and movement in detail, ensuring that I understand the purpose behind the exercise. Her motivation and encouragement to push me has helped me achieve more than I thought possible. I always leave each session feeling stronger and more confident, thanks to her support.
I have had such a positive experience at Turnfit. As someone with a long history of chronic pain and injuries, it's always daunting to begin with a new trainer. David and Shirley have been PHENOMENAL at helping me get back to it. One of the best advantages is how centralized everything is-- using an app, you get feedback and guidance on nutrition, exercise, strength, body composition, etc in addition to the in-person sessions. It helps keep me on track and it's such a holistic approach to your health and well-being. I also like how my trainer integrates physio-oriented rehab strategies into our workout routines- I feel more connected to those exercises and it's helped me build a safer and more sustainable relationship with exercise. I also feel like they really, genuinely care about you- you get check-ins, I've even gotten personal video messages from David when coping with a minor back setback. It's a place of genuine people who truly, honestly want to help you achieve your goals. 1000% recommmend!
After my first session with David, I immediately saw a difference in my posture and back pain. My muscles were less tense and I learned how to use them correctly for walking and standing. Most importantly, I was able to take a longer walk home, pain-free! I keep using his exercises regularly and it is making a huge difference. I used to take painkillers for back pain and headaches. Now, I can usually get away with exercising to make pain go away. David has a very friendly yet professional approach. He supports you when you need it and he is tough when he senses that you can push yourself further. His background knowledge of the different muscle groups and of how physical and mental health are connected is excellent.
