Wife had an oil leak and to say West Automotive went above and beyond is an understatement. Marvin could not of been more honest and transparent throughout the repair. Had her car back within a day and the cost was far below the original estimate. Finding a reliable trustworthy mechanic is one of the hardest things to do and as long as Marvin is at West I will never go anywhere else again.

First time customers, BE AWARE! It was my first time coming to this shop. I took my car in to get a scan only and that was it. I wanted to see Marvin because my mom has seen him and I’ve looked at reviews and he seems to be really good at what he does. I was told Marvin wasn’t there. So I specifically told the owner, Chuck, that all I wanted was a scan. I wasnt sure if I needed a transmission flush but I just wanted them to scan my car first just to see if anything came up. Chuck started asking me if my check engine light was on and he said if it was on then there’s something wrong. I was not there for them to check my engine or anything else with my car. JUST A SCAN. I already knew what was going on with my check engine light so I really didn’t need them to check that, nor did I ask them to. Chuck decided to run a diagnostic on my car. WHICH I NEVER ASKED FOR. WITHOUT MY CONSENT OR KNOWLEDGE. This whole time, I thought they were just doing a scan and that was it but by the time of my departure, Chuck tells me that I needed to pay. I ask what exactly I was paying for because I was extremely confused. He said that they ran a diagnostic on my car and that it was going to cost me $168.57 Not once did I ask for a stupid diagnostic. I explained to Chuck that on their website it says “Free Appointment”. He said that was only for a scan, which I SPECIFICALLY told him that was all I was there for. Turns out, Marvin was on lunch during the time I came in and he told Chuck that there was a lady that was going to come in only for a scan and nothing else (I was the lady). But Chuck decided to do whatever the hell he wanted. I get he’s the owner, but I absolutely didn’t appreciate his sneakiness at all and I do feel like I was taken advantage of. -5 stars.

A+ service and they have become my go to shop for any automotive needs to do the high integrity of the staff. Had the car making an awful rattling noise and I feared the worst, they could have easily taken me for a ride and lied about work that needed done. Instead they found a rock that caused no damage, removed it, told me about it, and sent me on my way at no cost 😭. That's how you gain loyal customers

I drove into West Avenue Automotive and Transmission because the usual garage I use was booked until next week; my wife was taking our car on a 500 mile trip in two days. This shop used to be a transmission repair shop only, but now works on everything except tires and alignment. I was pleasantly surprised. It's not a large garage but had enough work bays to accommodate me in less than an hour. The mechanic who worked with me politely told me the air filter looked a little dirty and should be changed soon. Translation: it looked awful and had not been changed in a long time. When I changed it at home, it looked even worse! Four quarts of Mobile 1 and I was good to go. It cost less than I expected, and the mechanic asked if I were military, which knocked off another 5%, which always helps. I've driven past this garage for several years without ever stopping. The waiting room was clean and offered Kurig Coffee: that makes them a keeper. Based on my experience today, I highly recommend West Avenue Automotive and Transmission. It's not far from Walker Ranch Park on West Avenue. Update: 12/27/2023. They do annual state vehicle inspections, too. Update: 3/27/2023. Oil change for my truck. Update: 9/18/2023. Running a sale on tires. Update, 12/9/2023. Business is growing. Update, 6/6/2024. Very busy because they're good. Worthwhile making an appointment.
