Easy to be seated quickly. Our food was AMAZING. Got the taquitos as an app, then the barria anc street tacos- speechless. Server was fantastic as well as the bartender. Would highly recommend if you're craving great food with take home portions!
We have eaten at the northeast Mesa location several times and the tacos were delicious. Thought we would try the new location. Ordered the Korean Braised Short Rib Tacos which also happens to be the most expensive taco plate $22. Asked the server if we could please switch out one of the tacos for a less expensive shrimp taco. Still paying the price of the Korean beef of course. They have done this before at the other location. The waitress asked the manager and he refused. He said they can't do that. We all know they can they just don't want to. Well I still ordered them and also ordered a prickly pear margarita. My husband ordered the surf and turf burrito. The tacos were great as always. My husband pulled out little pieces of fat from his burrito. Okay sometimes that happens when eating beef. As my husband gets to the end of his burrito, he has got a large piece of fat that he pulled out and it was actually strips of raw bacon. The bacon is mostly white not even rendered. The manager walked by we stopped him to let him know that the bacon in his burrito was completely raw.He looked at it and said , oh I'll go talk to the cook. The waitress comes over.We also made her aware. She comes back with the check and said because of this they aren't going to charge me for my margarita. Instead of taking the burrito off?? This makes no sense to us. Very poor management, quite clearly they do not appreciate your business (repeat customers) and are completely fine with uncooked food being served to their guests. We will not be returning and definitely will not recommend this to others as we have many times in the past. We took a picture but don't see where that can be attached.
Zona Cantina is hands down our favorite place to dine out while in Mesa!! The fusion of Mexican and Asian food is absolutely amazing. We've been coming here for two years and are never disappointed with the food, drinks, or service! Our recent visit for lunch did not disappoint us! Brian the bartender made us some exceptional cocktails and was super attentive to us!! Thanks Brian!!
Had the best dinner at Zona! So excited that it is down the street from our house! The chips and salsa were amazing! The margaritas were so good. We also had a sushi roll to start and then surf and tacos and the poke stack, which was incredible! Abby was an amazing server! The entire staff was so nice. Love the patio and the inside dining was so cute! So excited to come back!
My husband & I lunched here and the food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Creamy Jumbo Shrimp Al Ajillo and it was excellent. My husband ordered Shredded Short Rib Enchiladas and he loved it. He said the sauces that came with it were so tasty, he would have been licking his plate clean if it was socially acceptable! The presentation for both dishes was outstanding! Clearly the chef understands that we eat with our eyes first, so presentation is key. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. The ambience is lively. The star today was the chef though, as this food was absolutely delicious & worth every penny!
