I recently attended a defensive driving course, and overall, it was a good experience. The instructor was professional, and the class was easy to follow and complete. It was helpful as a refresher, and I did take away some important tips about staying aware on the road and avoiding bad driving habits. However, I think the course could be improved in a few key areas. There was a lot of emphasis on statistics — like how many crashes happen per year, or how many people text and drive — which, while important, started to feel repetitive. I would have preferred more time spent on actual rules of the road, like proper lane usage, yielding in different scenarios, 4-way stop rules, and how to navigate more complex intersections. Those are things drivers face every day, and it would have been more useful to go in-depth on those. The course did a good job of stressing awareness and responsibility, which I appreciate, but I left feeling like it missed an opportunity to teach or reinforce practical, rule-based knowledge that would help both newer and experienced drivers. Still, I’d recommend the class — especially for those needing to dismiss a ticket or lower their insurance. Just keep in mind that it’s more about safe driving attitudes than a full refresher on traffic laws.

ABC Defensive Driving offers an exceptional program with driving instructors who are patient, positive, and qualified. I recently took their course and was pleased with the curriculum and experience overall. They have found a good balance of making the classes fun but also informative. The class had excellent slides and the content that were very helpful. My instructor Julie was very friendly, informative, and honest. If you are looking to become more knowledgeable about traffic laws, driving techniques, and want your tickets dismissed, this is the place to go!
