John replied to my text message inquiry in a timely manner, came on the scheduled date & time to fix the ceiling in my apartment. A++ for communication and service. Never even got a call back from the other people I reached out to.
We worked with ABC Handyman, John, on a bunch of projects around the house, and he did an awesome job from start to finish. He tore down an old closet and removed a door to give us a flat back wall for a new built-in, framed and drywalled around a lava rock wall so we could install an AC unit, and covered up a CMU wall to give it a clean, smooth look. He also helped with a few smaller fixes along the way without any fuss. He showed up on time, worked quickly, and paid close attention to the details. The work areas were kept tidy every day, and he explained what he was doing so we always knew the plan. What stood out most was how versatile and skilled he is—he handled framing, drywall, and finish work all in one go. He’s easy to talk to, gives honest feedback, and genuinely wants the end result to look good. We’re really happy with how everything turned out and will definitely be calling him again for future projects. Highly recommend.
My partner and I recently purchased our first condo in town and we wanted to update our old popcorn ceilings to a beautiful skim coat. Our new home is roughly 500 sqft and we have a first tight, 2-week moving window. We're so grateful to find Johnny, with ABC Handyman Hawaiʻi. He was punctual, meticulous, and we are so HAPPY with the results! I shopped around and received quotes from 6 different handyman, paint, and ceiling restoration companies and Johnny responded to me super quickly and ran through the end-to-end process of work to be done. My partner and I were sold by how detail-oriented he was in explaining the materials he would use and all the safety considerations we should pay attention to as new homeowners. Our goal was to get a high quality, skim coat ceiling that matched our walls and Johnny delivered. He ended up skimming 16 gallons of drywall compound onto our scraped off ceiling, he did the priming and painting, plus he did all the repairs on the wall and helped us reinstall lights and other ceiling fixtures. He also spotted that our kitchen cabinets were barely hanging on by a loose screw and made time in his schedule to secure those for us as well! We really enjoyed working with ABC Handman, we wanted the best and we got the best. Mahalo Johnny!
We were recently surprised by a water leak in our bathroom ceiling at our Waikiki condo. Our building manager came with a plumber to assess the problem. John from ABC Handyman Hawaii was highly recommended to handle the repair of our textured ceiling and extensive wall damage. John was very quick to respond and come by to assess the situation. I felt very comfortable with John's demeanor and professionalism.....Once he started the repairs he explained the entire process and I saw how multi-faceted everything was.......he dealt with concrete, drywall, and plaster refurbishing as well as the textured ceiling. John works quickly and is very mindful of dust containment and cleanliness. Paint matching was excellent and when John painted the seam where the wall and ceiling meet, it was better than it originally was. I can truly highly recommend John ABC Handyman Hawaii.
John did a fantastic job mounting a folding table into our cement wall!! His rates were very reasonable and he was very easy to communicate and schedule with. Would def use him again for any other jobs I need! Thank you John!
