I cannot say enough good things about Affiliated Veterinary Emergency Service in Allen Park. We brought our cat Milo in late at night after a terrifying lily exposure. From the moment we walked in, the staff was calm, kind, and incredibly professional. They immediately took the situation seriously, explained exactly what was happening, and moved fast to start treatment. Every doctor and technician we interacted with was patient, compassionate, and extremely thorough. They walked us through every step, from the toxin treatment and IV fluids to the lab work and ongoing kidney monitoring. What meant so much to us was the communication. The veterinarians called us at every shift change and gave us detailed updates about how Milo was doing, what his labs showed, and what the plan was moving forward. Getting those updates every twelve hours made such a stressful situation feel so much more manageable. Being able to take him home knowing his kidney values stayed normal was such a relief, and that’s because of their quick action and careful monitoring over multiple days. Emergency situations are scary, but this team made a horrible night feel manageable. We are so grateful to Dr. Wright, Dr. Hawthorne, Dr. Izer, and the entire AVES team(I’m sorry for anyone that I missed) for saving our cat and treating him like family. Milo is home because of you. Thank you.
I brought my Parson’s Terrier, Ella in on a November 14, 2025 with a prolapsed eye from a fight with another dog. Jessica, Kate and Dr. Rocket were absolutely amazing and took such great care of not just her, but me, her extremely nervous mom. They all had such great personalities and you could tell they all genuinely love animals. It is not just a job to any of these ladies. Ella had her starches removed yesterday and where her eye was looks so good. I am very impressed by the work Dr. Rocket did. From making sure Ella was seen soon as we came in (I called ahead to make them aware of the situation), keeping her pain free and comfortable, the surgery and all in between through me taking Ella home, I felt so good knowing she would be well cared for. These ladies went above and beyond making sure my fur baby felt safe and all my questions were answered. I had been here 8.5 years ago and had a terrible experience. I’m so glad there is a staff here now that belongs working with animals! I recommend taking your fur baby here. If they can save them, they will. You can’t put a price on life if you truly value it. I’m glad financing options are available for those who also need them so more animals can be saved and not put down for not fatal injuries!
I went into this vet yesterday because my 4 pound Pomeranian has had diarrhea for three days. He’s not eating. When I went in and walked up to the desk, the girl looked bothered. I explained to her about my dog. She told me that it would be a six hour wait. Maybe five people were in there. I asked if I could go home and they could call me when it was my turn. She said no. I said that is very stupid. Who wants to sit in that small little office with bad chairs for six hours? I have no idea! She told me to get out. I was already walking out, but she came from behind the desk and basically chased me to the door. I genuinely thought she was coming to hit me. I had been crying. It was very emotional because I’m worried about my senior dog. Worst customer service I’ve dealt with in a long time. Anyone working at a place like that should be kind caring and a little more accommodating. I will never take my dog there again. I would suggest Never using them. Horrific experience! I would give -5 stars if I could
I cannot recommend affiliated enough. To the amazing vet, vet tech, and receptionist that helped us put our Simon down last Friday, thank you. Thank you for your professionalism, your genuine empathy, and for providing a safe place to say goodbye. I would recommend affiliated for anyone needing fast, honest, and quality care.
We had to recently come in on Saturday 7/12 to euthanize our 17yo dachshund after an unexpected seizure/ stroke earlier in the morning. They were nothing but sweet on the phone when I was frantically trying to call around to places who would be open and get price estimates. When we did arrive they immediately put us back in our own private room which I was very thankful for. They made an impossibly sad situation the very best. They gave as much time as we wanted to say goodbye & say our last goodbyes to our faithful old boy. They even gave us some mini milky ways and greenie treats to spoil him one last time. They offered to let us out the side door to the parking lot so we could go right to our car instead of through the lobby area. Thank you again for making our boy feel loved one last time before we had to let him go . I’ll always remember the kindness and compassion all your workers showed us that day. Rest easy Jack your little boy asks about you everyday. We all miss you so so much.
