A hidden gem in Belfast. The owner is incredible, knows his stuff and is passionate about style. He saw how I was dressed (even on a cold, wet jeans and jacket day!) and pulled out items that I adored. If it was my local vintage shop I would never have any money left - it was hard enough sticking to my budget and I ended up buying a long vintage A-line skirt in the softest leather. Already my new favourite wardrobe piece. Lots of vintage high end brands - I saw THE tartan bustier Dolce and Gabbana dress from the 90's but unfortunately for me two sizes too big - but lucky for someone because it was gone the next day when I went to see if I would be able to tailor it. Sad me, happy wallet. If you're in Belfast and love vintage I recommend this one above all others, it has style that isn't just the "vintage shop on the high street". There was a perfect range of prices and brands, not everything is high end couture so I'm certain there's something there for anyone's budget - mine wasn't high and I was incredibly impressed. Don't be put off that you have to knock on the door of a hairdressers - the current shop is upstairs (temporarily!) and the people working there are so incredibly sweet. If you were told by a friend or a blog to look for a large shop in an old church - this is the same shop, don't worry, it's just finding a new location.
The vibe in this place is fantastic. Iain always has some great tunes on on. The clothing selection is amazing... Some rare, some retro and all fantastic quality. And why not get your hair cut when your there. I did New premises. But still has great vibe and haircuts😁 The overall atmosphere in hairdressers is amazing. All really friendly people. We had a laugh and listened to some great music, got mine and my partners hair cut. Then had a leisurely browse through the vintage clothing.
A true vintage shop, with unique items. Not like a lot of generic or over the top vintage shops that are the norm on the high streets. Ian stocks a lot of military and work wear, much of it in great condition and all of high quality. Ian is very friendly and knows the story behind every piece of clothing in his shop. Definitely worth a visit even if you just want a tour through the wears.
First time going to Iain for a haircut and I’m absolutely delighted with my hair! Iain is friendly, knowledgeable and takes time to consider what works best for you. I really liked that he also took the time to explain what he was doing and why. The music was brilliant, the chat and the vibe of the place is great and there’s also a fantastic selection of vintage clothing and records. Definitely recommend!
Getting my hair cut used to be something I never looked forward to until I discovered Iain and his new venture @ Alchemy Vintage & Arts. Always a warm welcome and nice atmosphere. Good chat and cool tunes on the turntables. Most importantly Iain is a master of his craft who takes his time and delivers a brilliant haircut each & every time.
