We came here to celebrate a birthday, and the service was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The signature pasta stood out much more than the cheese one, in our opinion. We really enjoyed the olive oil and bread — but don’t fill up on it, because there’s plenty of great food coming! The cocktails were well done too — as someone who doesn’t drink much, I especially enjoyed the Moscow Mule. This place is also suitable for special occasions and ceremonies. I noticed they have a hall that can accommodate larger gatherings. Overall, a great spot for celebrations, good food, and drinks.

I spent the evening at Alla Famiglia for our annual Christmas girls night and it was perfect from start to finish. Anthony (Tony) took incredible care of us from the moment we sat down until the very end of our meal. He walked us through the evening’s specials with so much detail, answered every question, and made the entire experience feel personal. We always enjoy hearing what the chef and the team have planned for the night, and this visit was no different. One thing I truly love about dining here is that the entrees come with a salad, a pasta course if you did not order a pasta entree, and then your selected meal. The casa salad is my favorite while my friend tried the wedge salad and really enjoyed it. We shared the rigatoni vodka pasta and for our entrees she ordered the chicken Parmesan (Parmigiana) while I ordered the Tagliatelle Scoglio Del Mare. Their seafood pasta is my favorite seafood dish in the city because it is perfectly seasoned, creamy in the best way, and full of fresh flavor. Anthony was a complete 10 out of 10. When we were deciding on dessert, he recommended the Biscoff cheesecake and spoke very highly of their pastry chef which was so nice to hear. From the host stand to the servers to the food runners, you can see how much effort and teamwork goes into making every part of the night run smoothly. After working in the service industry for the past 10 years, I can confidently say this restaurant deserves a full 10 out of 10. Anthony also told us to check out the cigar lounge after our meal and we loved it. Haley greeted us right away, gave us a tour, and explained how we can utilize the lounge on our next visit. Alla Famiglia is my favorite Italian spot in Pittsburgh and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a moody, intimate, and flavorful dining experience.

The restaurant was very cute. Our server was knowledgeable and very attentive and explained the menu in detail. The bread and oil to start was wonderful. We ordered the meatball gigante appetizer which was very good and dipping the bread in the gravy was delicious. We enjoyed our salad which was the casa salad. We then enjoyed Cacio E Pepe with is a linguini with a farm fresh cream, cracked pepper, prepared in a Romano cheese wheel. I want to start by saying the noddle was fresh and the texture was delightful. I like fresh ground pepper, but however for me, our server preparing the dish at our table over peppered it for my taste, my wife absolutely loved it and thought it was perfect. So if you do not like a lot of pepper, be sure to let your server know. My main course was the NY Strip steak which I had ordered medium rare, and it was served medium well. I did not like the steak but I went to an Italian restaurant and should of ordered something more appropriate. My wife had what was a center cut filet steak, and I asked her how her steak was and she said, "talk later". To my surprise, she didn't finish all of the filet, so of course I ate the last bite. I chewed, and chewed, and chewed, and was surprised this filet didn't melt in my mouth. My wife later told me she had to cut pieces so small so she could chew the meat. Again, should of ordered something more appropriate and even one of our servers recommendations. If you go to an Italian restaurant order Italian. We both ordered a dessert, pumpkin creme brulle, and an apple cheesecake. The apple cheesecake was delicious! The pumpkin creme brulle was interesting. Finally, I do want to mention that we both were going to order a glass of the Moscato D'Asti for $15 a glass, and our server suggested we just get the bottle especially if we were getting two glasses. I have to say that it was so delicious and after just taking one drink my wife said take a picture and Google where we can buy it at home, and I found it and priced just at $25 a bottle on line. When the bill came we were charged $89 for a bottle that should of been priced at $50 in my opinion, and too make 200% profit on a bottle was shocking to me, my bill with tip was $390. My recommendation is to order either an Italian dish or anything they are known for and your server will let you know and make those suggestions.

Inside the seemingly small storefront is a sprawling labyrinth. Each room is tucked away, creating a collection of unique eating experiences. The hostess, assuming you do not employ alternative methods, will seat you where you fit in. Larger italian men should avoid wearing hats with their suit or they may find themselves seated incorrectly. We ordered the veal chop to share, and the generous, and complimentary salad and pasta course had us almost full before the veal. My future self was not complaining as it made for an excellent lunch. Every table seemed to leave with a tower of plastic wrapped styrofoam boxes. The food was excellent, with the vodka pasta a clear standout. We also enjoyed the tableside cacio e pepe, made in a cheese wheel. The service was friendly, though a bit casual. Be ready to eat.

We went there for our anniversary. My wife had the Chicken Alla Limon and I had the Chicken Pizzaiola. All of the food was amazing but I thought the Pizzaiola was out of this world. I really loved the flavor that the sausage added to the dish. And I must say that drizzling a little of the olive oil infused with peppers that accompanied the entrees was delightful. The food and the cocktails we're top notch. I must add that I'm not a big tiramisu fan but the raspberry tiramisu was excellent! I definitely recommend this place for a special occasion.
