I came to LA for the Emmys and the night before my flight, I tried on my dress—only to realize it was way too big. I had lost a bit of weight and the fit was completely off. The dress looked boxy and frumpy, and I honestly started to panic. Thankfully, I found Lina—the amazing owner of Alterations Et Al in West Hollywood. I reached out and she invited me to bring the dress in to see what could be done. She was so warm, kind, and professional—and even with the tight turnaround, she agreed to take on the rush job. The dress needed a lot of work, but when I picked it up, it fit like a glove. It looked flawless and felt like it had been custom-made for me. Lina is incredibly talented, fast, detail-oriented, and truly a joy to work with. So many people told me I looked beautiful that night—and a few even said I was one of the best dressed. That’s 100% thanks to Lina’s amazing work. She truly saved the day, and I’ll be forever grateful! (Sharing a few photos so you can see the results!)
Lina is great! She worked with me on my wedding gown, which was a silk dress, to figure out how to keep my chest ... uh, shall we say... *contained* as well as looking good, despite having very little to work with (it was open back and because it's silk, there's not a lot you can add!) In the end, we were able to add a layer of nude-colored fabric that helped camouflage my sticky bra. She also took in another dress for me and hemmed some pants — all of them turned out wonderfully. I will definitely be coming back!
Lina is incredible. She tailored this lilac Revolve dress I wore for a friend's wedding and it came out flawless. Truly night and day from how it fit when I first received. Lina is a perfectionist, and literally would not stop finessing until the dress fit like a glove. She is worth every penny and will give you the most personalized, professional treatment — and you can tell she truly cares about her customers looking their absolute best. Cannot recommend her enough.
Lina has actually tailored some of my clothes (all perfect jobs) before, but I just wanted to share this amazing project that she helped me with. I had a cosplay for a convention that I bought online that was HUGE on me and did not fit my chest and torso at all. The costume itself was also cheap and was NOT an easy garment to work with. However, Lina knew immediately just how to alter it to best fit and flatter my body type. As you can see from the photos, Lina altered the costume in such a flattering way that it perfectly suited me and looked beautiful both in photos and in person. She is fabulous and very talented, and you should definitely work with her!
Lina is amazing! I have a Zimmerman dress that didn’t fit right in the chest originally. I couldn’t just go to anyone to get it altered… After seeing Lina‘s positive reviews on Google, I decided to give her a call. She was happy to help! When I came to her shop, she gave me her full undivided attention and worked to find the right adjustments to make the dress a better fit. She spent 30 minutes with me and made sure I was happy with her plans with the dress. I saw her on a Monday and by Thursday the dress was ready for pick up. She did an excellent job and now the dress feels like it was made for me. I will definitely use her services again!
