Most amazing cruise I have ever taken. The attention to detail is spot on, as well as all your needs being met. The crew made the trip memorable. Food was exquisite. My husband and I loved every second of our trip!

We were passengers on the roundtrip, New Year's Eve cruise out of New Orleans. It is our understanding that it was the last cruise for the American Queen vessel before docking until February. In both the J.M. White Dining Room and Front Porch Cafe, moldy bread slices were regularly in the serving stations for guests. Things happen, but daily occurrences for a premium cruise experience is disappointing. It made us question the freshness of other items prepared and served to guests.

Paddlewheeling on one of the American Queen boat line is a return to the elegance of 1880s. After a trip on the Amercan Dutchess on the Misissippi River I am used to fine china and linens, impeccable service, food that rivals 5-star restaurants and Broadway caliber entertainment. Almost every day the Dutchess pulled up at a new river town to explore on bus trips, or walking. Each stop trip had local guides in period clothing showcasing the local points of history and interest. There was almost always something going on, but the real draw was the river. The bow, stern and our stateroom balcony all gave different views of riverside America. A relaxing vacation doesn't get much better than this. There are several boats and many river trips to choose from.

I have been on 11 cruises with Regent Seven Seas, Norwegian, Celebrity, Holland America and Viking, and American Queen Steamboat Company beats them all! I just Finished the cruise from Memphis to New Orleans. Memphis is such a cool city. It has a great vibe. The first stop after Memphis was the Grammy museum in Greenville Mississippi. Did you know that more people from Mississippi have one Grammys than any other State? The food is outstanding. They have prime steaks and lobster available every night included so you can order lobster with your entrée every single night. Which I did. They also have open bars all throughout the day with no limit and no excluded alcohol. Lots of people were experimenting with different cocktails and enjoy themselves every night before dinner. The wine pairings with dinner were excellent. We had an inside cabin and it was spacious. There was plenty of room for the two of us to store our belongings. We never felt crowded in anyway. The bathroom was really large. Everything is beautiful on the Countess. The highlight of the cruise was the entertainment. The stage band is comprised of extremely talented musicians from some of the best musical universities in the United States. The singers and dancers were fresh off of Broadway. Of course, Broadway he has been closed for a year, so it’s nice to see these people having a chance to earn a living. One night we had a magician perform. He was funny, talented, and engaging. It was a great show. Each day, all of the excursions were included. We learned a lot about history and culture, music and food. The excursions are very interesting. The nice thing also is they have their own dedicated buses so your same bus driver stays with you throughout the cruise and the buses are extremely comfortable. I am booking their Columbia and Snake River cruise for 2022 right now!! This was the best vacation of my life and I have been to 45 countries. American Queen Steamboat Company hires only US citizens. Just completed the Memphis to New Orleans cruise on the American Queen and I have got to say this was the best cruise my wife and I have ever taken. Our dinner servers were Sam and Xenia, two of the most professional, caring and thoughtful people that you could possibly ever meet. The food was fabulous, the entertainment was top notch, the shore excursions were educational, and the accommodations were everything you could possibly ask for. Cruising down the mighty Mississippi was so peaceful and relaxing. I would like to go back tomorrow for another cruise if I could schedule the trip. I will be going back on another cruise on the American Queen Riverboat!
