Dewayne was such a wonderful trainer for our dog, Darla. Before training, our dog was bolting out of our door, pulling on the leash, and was not listening to us (we didn’t know how to get on the same page as her). We did the 3 week training for her and we are so grateful that we found Anchor Up k9 Academy! Dewayne was very communicative and would send us nightly updates about Darla. These updates were so organized and included what training was being done for the day or any activities that were done, with plenty of pictures! My husband and I also met up with Dewayne to go over everything that she learned, even showing us everything in person. He also provided a nice folder with references and Darla’s certificate for training. I cannot express how grateful that we are for Anchor Up k9 Academy and how helpful Dewayne has been for our dog!! The best trainer ever!! 🎉🎉🎉

We dropped our 10 month old chocolate lab Dixie off for a 3 week board and train. She is a sweet pup but had issues with crating, separation anxiety, pulling on the leash and jumping on people. Our trainer DeWayne met with us prior to give us an overview of the program and to meet Dixie. During her stay we got daily videos, pictures and a recap of the day. It was nice to see her progress along the way and the way she was loved and treated during her time away. She got lots of playtime and interaction with our DeWayne's family. I really loved that her training was not treat based and was filled with positive reinforcements and praise. DeWayne took the time to bond with her and really understand how Dixie learned best. He was always available for questions. He took Dixie out in social settings and stores and her transformation from an overexcited, overstimulated dog out in public was just amazing. Now she can be out and about on a leash and be her truly friendly self with calm and awareness how to act. DeWayne went over what they learned and how to reinforce it at home. She loves going on her walks and playtime and now it's fun for us too. I can't recommend this board and train enough. It made a huge difference in her behaviors but also in ours. The love and care she received in her board and train set a foundation for her living her best doggie life!

DeWayne is a fantastic dog trainer who is fully transparent through the entire process. We selected the two week board and train for our 8 month old German Shepard. The daily report cards, which include both videos and photos, allowed us to understand the process and use the learnings going forward. I would highly recommend Anchor Up Academy to anyone!

Our three year old Great Dane rescue, Chief, went through three weeks of board and train with Anchor Up and we cannot say enough good things about our experience. Dawayne is very communicative and helpful throughout the process. He takes the time to answer and questions or concerns we had. Chief does very well with commands on the leash and walks are much more enjoyable. He has a better understand of personal space and boundaries when new people come into our home and with our own children. We are so thankful we found Chief and even more grateful he was able to successfully complete training.

When we first started training, I was at my wit’s end and seriously considering rehoming my less-than-a-year-old golden retriever.
