Extremely Disappointing Customer Service – Unresolved Damaged Item I am very disappointed with the customer service from Barker and Stonehouse London regarding a marble TV unit that was delivered damaged. Despite reporting the issue promptly and providing all requested evidence, the problem remains unresolved. While the company has acknowledged that the unit is faulty, they have been completely inflexible and uncooperative when it comes to arranging a replacement delivery. They have refused to agree on a reasonable or convenient date, effectively leaving me stuck with a damaged product in my home. This lack of consideration and poor communication has caused unnecessary frustration and inconvenience. What is most disappointing is the unwillingness to take responsibility and provide a fair solution. Under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (Section 75), customers are entitled to protection when goods are faulty or not as described, yet Barker and Stonehouse appear unwilling to act in line with these consumer rights. For a company that positions itself as a premium furniture retailer, the after-sales service is far below expectations. I would strongly advise potential customers to be cautious, as resolving issues once something goes wrong seems unnecessarily difficult and time-consuming. I am still waiting a solution
A beautiful warehouse that has some amazing furniture. Sofas, dining tables and chairs. side tables, drawers etc the two members of staff that was on that day I visited was extremely friendly, informative and made me feel welcomed to just walk about and browse the multitude of different designs. It was good to get an idea of what I wanted and I would definitely buy from Barker and Stonehouse.
Well laid out showroom with lots of fantastic items. We were looking for a sofa and saw two possible options. The members of staff we spoke were lovely and helpful, providing prices for a range of sofas and options. Recommended place to visit.
Purchased a table and dining bench from the Battersea store, making it clear to the sales advisor we live in the Isle of Wight and this is where the items will be going (which he acknowledged by telling us about another customer who also purchased items for their home in the Isle of Wight). Barker and Stonehouse do not deliver to the island, so had items delivered to family home on the mainland. After transporting items back to the island, we realised the screws were never shipped with the table, and there was damage to it. Contacted B&S who sent out replacement screws/bolts but told us there is nothing more they can do about the damage due to the items having been taking out of mainland UK. Advised these terms and conditions are on their website, but was not told this at the time of purchase. Replacement screws arrived and are the wrong size, now they are refusing to send the correct size. Customer service is appalling and I will be making a complaint to the ombudsman.
