BASC prepared 2 tax returns for me; a personal return and another for a trust for which I am the executor. In both cases, the team at BASC were throughly knowledgable. When I had questions (and I had many) they responded promptly with answers that helped me move confidently through the process. Since I had never been executor for a trust before I greatly appreciated their patience and expertise. I filed my taxes feeling confident that they had been correctly prepared.

I was a client of BASC Expertise and Deidre for over four years for both personal and business taxes. I stayed far too long out of loyalty, despite knowing I was being significantly overcharged. After finally comparing prices, I found comparable firms charging nearly half or less, so I decided to move on in 2025. Once I ended the relationship, Deidre became hostile and unprofessional. She initially refused to release my tax files unless I paid sudden, unexplained fees. When we terminated her services for our company in December 2025, she claimed a 2022 contract “auto-renewed” forever, even though no contract had been signed since then and we clearly canceled before year-end. Then, without authorization or agreement, $36,000 was taken directly from our bank account, overdrawing it and causing serious financial damage. We never approved this charge. It was done to force payment for an entire future year we never agreed to. In my opinion, this was completely unethical. Her response to criticism has also included false statements, including claims that we are being sued for predatory sales tactics—which is simply untrue. We have never threatened reviews; reviews were only considered after the unauthorized withdrawal occurred. If you work with BASC Expertise, be extremely careful. Review contracts closely, lock down payment access, and be prepared for aggressive behavior if you try to leave.

Deirdre and her team at BASC are truly extraordinary to work with. Deirdre goes above and beyond to help her clients and is always there to help with understanding so that you do not feel like you are being left in the dark about any step!
