My wife and I came down from Sioux City, IA, to Omaha to celebrate her birthday weekend back in late August. We were looking for something a bit different to do, so I reserved two spots at the free event called "Experimental Music Performance: Nadia Botello’s Other Channels with Omaha Symphony." We got to the Bemis Center about 40 minutes before the performance so we could have a little time to look at the displays. The displays were very thought-provoking and captured the human experience well. (See my photos and captions) It was also really nice that they served complimentary drinks with the option to donate. I happily gave a small cash donation. My wife and I each had a LaCroix, and both the flavors were delcious and refreshing on a warm Saturday afternoon. The string quartet's performance was beautiful and relaxing. Thank you to the Bemis Center staff and the talented musicians for helping me to give my amazing wife a relaxing birthday. We hope to come back to the Bemis Center soon!

Wonderful place for art lovers, offering a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere. The gallery showcases a diverse collection of contemporary and traditional artworks, making it a must-visit for enthusiasts. They regularly conduct engaging events, workshops, and exhibitions, providing a platform for artists and art lovers to connect. However, parking can be challenging during peak hours, so it's advisable to arrive early or use public transport. The art classes for kids are fantastic—my children thoroughly enjoyed the interactive sessions and creative activities. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. A great cultural hub, though better parking facilities would make it even more convenient. Highly recommended for families and art admirers!"
It was cool to come in through the non chalant entrance and descend down the brutalist staircase to check in and then seamlessly to the service bar. There's a perfect wind around to the stage area or on to the very clean bathrooms. Very pleasurable encounter at the merch table. Low key sales are refreshing and intelligent these days. The only suggestion of improvement I would make is to possibly adjust the AC output as the compressors are really loud towards stage rear. Pretty sure that's a non negotiable and the center is already aware, but just know that it was disruptive.
What a lovely place to spend your time at. Whether you are checking out the cool rotating exhibits at the art gallery, or visit in the evening to see an interesting music show at their low-end stage, I'm sure you'll find an experience you weren't expecting! Did I mention there's no admission fee either? Give it a shot sometime if you are in the area, and be pleasantly surprised. If you'd like something like this to continue into the future, support them any way you can!
