Chris is a real life super hero. Not actually, but it got you to read this review. My wife and I went out last week and had a great time. From the time Chris maneuvered the boat out of the harbor and started heading out I had full confidence in is piloting skills. The boat is fast and comfortable. We cruised out and 35 mph while passing 5 other charter boats so we had more time with lines in the water. Speaking of water, Chris put us on the halibut right away and taught us Southern folks how to catch them. Thanks for the memorable trip and your support of veterans!

We recently chartered a fishing trip with Big Irv and we were not disappointed. We had three generations onboard and limited out quickly with halibut and silvers along with some cod and rockfish. The entire family had a great time and Chris worked his butt of making our trip a great success. We have our own boat but decided to expand our fishing memories with an expert. Thanks Chris for making our summer complete! Highly recommend this charter and looking forward to future trips aboard his vessel.

I really enjoyed my fishing charter with Big Irv’s! He is a great mix of professional and chill. His goal is to make sure you safely catch fish while having fun. I went alone but still had a great time with the other guests. And the views out of Whittier are stunning. Highly recommend.

I went fishing yesterday, August 22nd, with Captain Chris and had an amazing time! The weather was perfect and the water was calm. We didn’t catch a ton of fish, but it definitely wasn’t for lack of effort on the Captain’s part—he took us to several different spots and made sure everyone had a chance. In the end, everyone on the boat went home with halibut. Captain Chris was fantastic—knowledgeable, funny, and always keeping the trip upbeat with his jokes. I live in Alaska and would 100% go on another charter with him again. Highly recommend!

Best trip I’ve been on since moving to Alaska! Awesome boat and the captain was extremely hardworking all day. He helped us land a ton of fish with a variety of species. Super knowledgeable and coached some of the beginners to land some trophies! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a trip close to Anchorage. Caught more fish and had a better experience than other trips I’ve been on out of Homer. Veteran owned and it shows.
